Megear Level 2 EV Charger(240V, 16A, 25ft), Portable EVSE Home Electric Vehicle Charging Station(NEMA 6-30 Plug)

Update 11/6/2019: Thanks to a THICC extension cord I'm now using this at home as my primary EVSE. I charger in my driveway. Tha box lays on the floor of the garage just inside the big garage door, there's enough of a gap at the bottom corner of the door that the cable isn't pitched or even touched. The long 25" end basically lives outside 24/7. Most of it is coiled up next to the front door. I love that the J1772 has a rubber cap on it. How the 120v EVSE that came with my i3 lives in the little "Frunk" in a canvas bag along with some other roadside tools like a tire inflater and other things. I originally purchased this as an occasional use EVSE but it's my primary home charger for now and is going great. The J1772 also still feels nice and sturdy.(Original Review Below)Figured it would be very handy to have a portable level 2 charger, mainly for a 95 mile drive I do several times a year. I don't have a level 2 charger at home at the time of writing this review, but I will soon. With a (hard to find, but they do exist here on Amazon) NEMA 10-30 to NEMA 10-50 adapter I can safely plug this into my dryer outlet if I;m in a hurry, otherwise I just use my slow level one (110v 12A) charger than came with the car. I noticed it does get a touch warm on the box, but nothing I would be concerned about. Like anything else that can push a lot of current I kept a close eye on this unit the first few times I used it. The first time I used it I was down to 10 miles of EV range and charged it to full and it did great.I also appreciated that it came with a nice case with velcro on it, so I can stick it to the floor in the hatch. It doesn't move at all. All cables are good and thick, and the unit overall seems pretty well made. I'm not sure how long it would last as an every day charger however.Hope this review is helpful.

I had no idea what I was doing when I bought this. Needed to pick up a car (vw e-golf) outside of vehicle's max range in a corridor not well covered by charging stations. Used PlugShare to find possible places (many RV parks) and then got this cable. My very first charge was using this cable. It worked perfectly at the NEMA 14-50 outlet in a public garage. I'm so happy I got it. It will help me consider longer trips.

It has been over four months since we received this charger. We use it to charge my wife's Fiat 500E and it has never failed to do so. This is installed outdoors under a small awning in the Pacific Northwest (read: enough rain to test it out). So far, it has not developed any issue and has been solid so far. My Efergy power monitor shows a solid 3.3 kW +/- 10% when charging is happening so this is living up to the rating as stated.As an electrical engineer, I care about products that live up to spec and product reliability; as long as this holds up, I recommend it. If this breaks down within the next year, I will update.

My plug-in hybrid (Ford Energi) came only with a 110 V charger, which charges within 7 1/2 hours. No all plug-ins come with the 240 V charger. The Zenicar charger has filled the gap for me. I am able to charge within 2 1/2 hours using the 240 V plug I had installed during a remodel. It's easy to use, and the convenient case makes it simple to store. The only tricky issue came during ordering. Make sure you have an image of the outlet when ordering so you match the outlet with the plug ordered (mine is the "dryer" type). The Amazon product photos are clear, I took my time going through the plug types.

After about 4 months, no problems and charges just fine. We use almost everyday for Mercedes GLC350e (PHEV) because only has about 15 miles of electric only range and we want quick recharge. The cradle/cord holder are useful too.

The charger was ordered Friday afternoon, and while I paid the $12 for next day shipping, I was not expecting Saturday delivery, I was amazed the item was packaged and shipped and arrived hours after ordering. From the ordering and shipping side, it was excellent (which to me is part of the purchasing experience, so I am including that).The charger arrived very well packaged, with protecting wrapping around the control panel and plug end, protecting them from scratching while shipping. When I opened the box, I found the charger inside all encased within a beautiful logo'd black zippered bag, which matched the one our normal charger was in in our new car that we just brought home two nights earlier. This is NOT listed in the product description, so I was very happy to find they shipped it with the charger.While 'we' will probably have the charger installed 99% of the time, its nice to be able to take it along for those people who would do so; or in our case if we go on an extended trip to visit family where they may also have a 240vt outlet.Now for the product review. I was a bit leery purchasing this charger, as the price was cheaper than most, and usually that's some indication on quality or at least appearances on what you get. But for myself, I was just looking to save money and buy something that did what it was supposed to. The charger itself looked excellent, and all I can say is the price is simply less because they are selling a quality product that they know will make up for it in volume once the word gets out. It's pretty much the only reason I am taking the time to write this review. Normally I only bother when something was wrong and I want to warn others. In this case, I would like to share with others that this is a great purchase if you are looking over reviews and considering it.The quality, appearance, and (most importantly) performance, have all been great. The plug looks professionally made and I have no complaints about the quality after going over the entire cord and connector ends (where failures would normally occur). The cord itself is light, but also heavy enough to know its not cheap, or under current wire used. It matches in all appearances, the one we used at the dealership. I've spent 20+ years in military aviation, while I am not an electrician by trade, I am able to spot something which is obviously wrong or where the quality is lacking.I will add that I have only had the charger now for 3 days, so take from that what you will. But my initial review is nothing but excellent. If I have any complaints I will come back and modify the rating, but once this post has been up for a bit, if its still here, you know I am still thrilled.Hopefully this helps someone who is (like I was) going back and forth between all the options out there.

this charger does a great job on my Bolt. It’s four times faster than my 110 volt. It also stops running when the car is fully charged. Great value for the money. I would recommend this product.

Works great for charging our Hyundai Kona at 3.3 Kilowatts/hour from the same outlet used by a clothing dryer. This gives us about 25km of range per hour of charging. We used a Bryant 3025BRN Toggle Switch, Double Pole, Double Throw switch to add a 240 volt 30 Amp outlet in the garage. This allows the power to be directed to the dryer or car charger.

So far so good. Seems well built and has been working well with my 2017 eGolf. The only thing that is unclear is whether or not it will qualify for our provincial CVSE rebate since it is not listed as an approved model yet.

I have charged my car many times since I purchased this charger. Works fine. Cable does not get hot, great. cable sturdy.

Charges my Prius prime in 2 hours instead of 5h with the regular 120v cable. Fantastic! Plug is a little tight in the Prius charging port.
