Easy Fix for Your Sony 400 Disc Player
My Sony Disc Explorer 400, a 400 disc CD/DVD player I've had for years finally stopped working. I did a web search to see if other owners had the same issue. Turns out that the issue is the rubber belts that turn the disc carousel and operate the disk loading mechanism stretch over time to the point that they either slip or fall off of the pulleys. Luckily, there is a package of two replacement belts for sale on Amazon. After watching a video on replacing the belts I decided that it looked like a pretty straightforward operation to replace the belts, so I purchased the belts hoping they would restore the player to working order. After all, the belts were only $10.95 and replacing the player would cost hundreds of dollars. Replacement turned out to be quite easy and the new belts were more substantial than the originals. The player works like new again. I highly recommend this belt replacement kit for 400 disc players. There are several how-to videos on replacing the belts that you can search for and watch to determine if you should tackle the job yourself.

Perfect fit
While DVD's and CDs are somewhat obsolete, I have several expensive Sony 400 disc players full of discs that I constantly use. The aging and wear of a lousy pair of elastic belts is a dumb reason to lose that capability. I was relieved to find these available and for a very reasonable price. After replacing one set to prove it worked, I bought another set in case they discontinue these some day.

I still like to use CD’s. Have a 300 disc and 400 disc hooked up. 400 stoped spinning. Took it apart and saw belt off. Got it back on but to lose. Would not stay on. Bought these. Changed the 2 belts and now it works perfect. What a relief. Going to buy more for back up.

Super easy to install. Tons of youtube videos. These bands are tighter and much thicker than factory Sony ones. Highly recommended!
