Arctic Zone LavaSeat Heated Cushion

A couple things changed from older models:The "front" was quilted on the old ones (stitching across one side).And the old ones didn't crackle when you squeeze them.We use these as heat packs, often in bed. Lay it on a sore hip, knee, etc. and get nice warmth as you drift off to sleep... The new ones' outer sleeve crackle if you bend fold or lay on them. Not real loud, but noticeable in a quiet bed. Not a big deal, and certainly not a problem if you're using it as a seat in a stadium.Bottom line: Best microwave heat pad we've found.

We purchased this for our dog stroller. Kaylee can no longer walk very well while our dachshunds walk but not as far as I do. When they are done, they join Kaylee & stay warm while I finish me walk. It stays warm for a while after our walk. They like to stay in the stroller eve after we get home. Recommend

I have been using one behind my back in the car sincethe headrest pushes my head forward. Bought a second for 2nd car. Cushion not as quilted as previous one. Recommend seller consider selling cover just as portable cushion with slightly smaller handles.

Bought 2 per other reviews staring not to heat twice per day as several have exploded on 2nd heating. I heat one in the morning, and another around lunch.

I've had one of these for years and used it in a vehicle without heated seats. New car so it got relegated to use as a heating pad. Works great in the winter for warming up the sheets on a cold night or I use it year round when I have done too much and need some heat on my back. If warming sheets, once I crawl in, I will lay it across my belly to warm the torso. It isn't too hot by the time, I do that, but gives off a nice warmth. My sister had been complaining about not being able to get warm this past winter so I ordered one for her and she says it helps to keep her warm.

I bought two of these, and intend to only use them them for cooling (I currently live in SE Asia where it's always hot). I froze the inserts flat on a tray overnight then transported them inside an insulated bag during a 3-hour drive. When we got to our destination, the insulated bag had a pool of "water" at the bottom. Upon closer inspection, the "water" smelled like something reminiscent of white Elmer's glue... and one of the LavaSeats was soaked through and dripping when I took it out of the bag. When we got home later that same day, I weighed both inserts --- one was 900+ grams and the other only 680+, also the plastic covering was very loose. This was our first use.On the plus side, the covers are of good quality and seem to be constructed well. I rate the covers 5/5, the inserts 0/5. Overall 2.5/5.I intend to purchase replacement inserts from the manufacturer's web site.Update 1/24/2017I used new "heavy duty" microcore inserts in place of the old ones and I'm getting a lot of use from the Lava Seat now. I use it as a daily heating pad in my fur baby's bed. I put two heated heavy duty pads in the lava seat cover, encase it in a waterproof pillow protector, and then a cotton pillowcase. The bundle works wonderfully as a replacement "cushion" for the Midwest Quiet Time U-design pod. It keeps my pet warm from bedtime till the following morning.

I ordered these seats for my family to go to hockey games in an unheated arena. They work well, MAYBE don't hold the heat as well as I expected, but certainly keep warm enough to be glad we have them. You have to remove the pads from the covers to place in the microwave, then return them to the covers after heating. No instructions for heating more than one pad at a time, so I just heat each individually. Nice size.

My bum is freezing every winter - it's the only part of me that won't warm up. I drink so many cups of coffee trying to get it to warm up. This LavaSeat really does the trick. It is sooooooo warm. It's actually too warm at first so I don't nuke it for as long as it says to. It's like a dream come true for me. I wish I would have found it sooner. I just hope it lasts. Some people seem to be having problems with it not lasting. I'll update my review if I have any problems but so far so good - I couldn't love it more.UPDATE: I don't see a date of when I first wrote a review but it's December 2018 & this is still working great. I couldn't survive winter without it. I'm thinking of buying an extra for the car or in case they don't sell them in the future. I LOVE this thing!

I have two of these Lava Seats. One arrived with the gel pack broken and the shipping box soaked for which I received a replacement. After owning and using the Seat probably about a dozen times the gel pack broke while using soaking myself and the seat I was sitting on. Junk. Return window closed 8 days ago so I'm stuck with recycling a useless product.

Bought this product for the freezing cold arena mornings we spend cheering on our son. Well today was a different story. I stood up to go fix a loose skate to return to a GIANT puddle in front of my seat. I then proceed to realize that it was in fact my labs seat leaking everywhere. Talk about embarrassing! Unsure how to repair this situation but I'm very disappointed as I've only had it a month.

We have two of these and love them. We use them while sitting watching soccer in the freezing cold...... if these eventually fall apart I will be buying others until my kids no longer play sports. They would be great for hockey too. You can't really imagine how much warmer you become when using them. Most of the other parents have also purchased them and love them as much as we do.

This product did everything I was hoping it would do. I froze the insert then put it in the cover between the two foam pads and sat on it as my skin was very hot and itchy. It lasted for hours. Make sure you freeze it flat or it won’t fit in the cover.
