I've read more than I care to admit on lots of forums and reviews about the benefits of clay bars. My first foray was using a Farecla G3 clay mitt which did indeed remove contaminants but also marred the paint finish despite my following the instructions to the letter. I purchased the Bilt Hamber clay bar out of curiosity as much as anything, could so many reviews be wrong?To the point. I came to wash my Discovery (Santorini metallic black) only to find that some personage had covered it with paint spatter, you know the sort of spatter you get from paint rollers when applying emulsion. I tried T-cutting, which did remove it eventually but took ages, then I tried more aggressive mechanical means but also they took ages and marred the finish. I then tried the clay bar having convinced myself that there was no way that this would remove what appeared to be dried on magnolia emulsion or masonry paint.Initially I tried the clay bar (about a tenth of the bar) on a less visible side panel and then the bonnet using a speed detailer as a lubricant. I wanted to minimise the risk of stuffing the finish up and having to look at it every second that I drove the car! I needn't have worried. It took the spatter off with very little effort leaving a glass like finish that demanded to be touched and absolutely no signs of marring. I then went over the treated areas with a cheaper carnauba wax ( a Carplan product from Wilkos). The depth of shine is amazing and really brought out the metallic flecks.I then tried it on the rest of the car including the lower areas of the car doors which were heavily contaminated with tar - contamination that bad that Auto Glym tar remover had barely touched it. Again the clay bar lifted the tar off with very little effort leaving glassy smooth finish. I then tried the clay bar using a fairly strong solution of Bilt Hamber shampoo (5 mls in maybe a quarter of a bucket of water) and the results were equally impressive. I'm not quite brave enough just to try plain water and for the cost of a bit of shampoo, why would you risk it?Long story short, I'm delighted with the clay bar and the results achieved using it. I can certainly attest that it easily removes dried on emulsion/masonry paint and tar using both a quick detailer or just soapy water as a lubricant. The results are spectacular. I wonder if it is just as effective at removing the idiot that got paint all over my car in the first place!

I'd never 'clayed' my cars before, but discovered it and decided it was worth a go.I have to say that I'm impressed. I used small pieces which i flattened into 50p-size pads, and used them with a hosepipe running having washed the car first.I'm not sure how it does this, but with very little pressure it lifts off small embedded particles and leaves the paintwork incredibly smooth. I mainly used it along the lower bodywork, which had small gritty defects.In short, it works. It may be easier to use with warm water from a bucket, as the cold water made it quite rigid, but however you use it I assure you it lifts surface contaminate like nothing else.

After spending an hour trying to t-cut my car I decided to give up, my paintwork was very rough to touch, kind of sandpaper like. I did some research on the best way to solve this problem, still a bit dubious I ordered this clay bar, on arrival it was packaged in a tight fitting plastic box, the bar itself is approximately the size of a bar of soap, I washed my car thoroughly was a degreasing shampoo, I then cut the bar into four pieces and started on my paintwork, I had a hose to hand for the recommended lubrication. Within two minutes I was totally amazed. The clay bar was effortless to use and removed everything on my paintwork which made it feel rough and look matted. There was a lot of dirt present on the bar when being used and because the clay bar is white it clearly shows you what it was removing. The paintwork was perfectly smoot to touch, it took me approximately 40 mins to go round the car with the clay bar and a further 45 mins to apply a good quality car wax. My car looked and felt superb after this treatment, I don’t normally write reviews, but after trying this clay bar I was that impressed with it I had to write one.

If you want to ensure your car's paint is properly prepared before applying wax, you will need to use a clay bar. Bilt Hamber do two or three - choice depends on how fouled the paint is. My car is only nine months old so the soft clay bar was the right one to go for. You need to wash and dry the car before using a clay bar. It's like plasticine which you need to work in your hands to soften. Spray water on the area you're going to work on and then, very gently, rub a piece of clay backwards and forwards - no pressure is needed. You can feel it lifting all the grunge - it will take also off tar. Once you've clay barred your pride and joy, a quick rinse and dry and then you're ready to apply the wax finish to produce a showroom deep lustrous shine. If your paint is slightly oxidised, use car polish first as polish is slightly abrasive.

Brilliant product! I washed the car and was amazed to see the amount of dirty that was lifted from the paint. Things like small spots of dead and dried on flies, small pieces of tar and other grim not lifted by washing alone!This was a great purchase! But clearly is for someone that wants to take their car cleaning to a whole new level!

Used on a recently purchased 18 month old Golf prior to Autoglym treatment. Used in conjunction with Autoglym detailing spray, between Christmas and new year (8C). So fairly good surface to begin with, pliable with the temperature, gave a really smooth surface. Washed, clayed and washed again. Took about 2 hours and used about 1/3 box. Going to buy another box and move o to the remaining 2 cars.

Perfect clay for my Audi A6. I run out of Autoglym clay, which at nearly £20 for a kit with a very small amount of clay is very expensive. This clay does the job just as well, but easier to use. I use it with the Rapid Detailer, and get perfect results every time. I am very particular how my car looks, and this product satisfies my very high standard of expectation.

Alle haben eins gemeinsam: Sie brauchen ein Gleitmittel, damit sie keine unschönen Anhaftungen auf dem Lack hinterlassen.BiltHamber braucht kein teures Gleitmittel, es reicht einfach Wasser. Reichlich aufsprühen, die weiße Knete ist extrem weich und nimmt den anhaftenden Schmutz perfekt auf. Weich wie die weiße Meguiar's, aber effektiver in der Reinigung. Welten besser als die blaue Magic Clean, die auch sehr schnell bei kühleren Temperaturen zu hart wird. Diese BiltHamber kann man sogar um den Gefrierpunkt einsetzen, sie ist dann immer noch halbwegs weich.Die Kosten der Nutzung sind also geringer, weil das Gleitmittel nicht benötigt wird.Sie kommt in 200 gr, das ist natürlich ein ziemlicher Brocken. Mit dem Messer vier gleich große Stücke - das ist dann ausgewalkt die perfekte Menge für leichtes Arbeiten und macht die Anschaffung vergleichsweise preiswert.Wie bei allen Kneten gilt: Berührt sie den Boden, ist sie Müll. Die Knete ist so "klebrig", daß wirklich sofort Dreck dran klebt und damit will niemand seinen Lack verschandeln. Beim Kneten gleitet sie ohne jeden Druck perfekt über den Lack, so daß auch bei mehrfachem Abfahren derselben Fläche keine Spuren im Lack zurückbleiben.Das Durchkneten bei "Dreckaufnahme" geht der weichen Konsistenz wegen sehr einfach.Da der Preis auch noch in Ordnung ist - fünf von fünf Sternen.

Es la primera vez que utilizaba un producto como éste y realmente estoy muy satisfecho. El coche sobre el que lo utilicé es blanco y estaba lleno de partículas rojizas (supongo que de óxido), el vehículo tiene pocos años y me daba mucha rabia ver todas esas partículas en la pintura pero también me daba algo de respeto utilizar productos como éste. Debido al miedo de ocasionar ralladuras, lo que me pareció más sensato fue escoger una clay bar suave con cierta reputación y buenas valoraciones. En mi caso lubriqué únicamente con abundante agua tal y como indican las instrucciones. Todas esas partículas y cualquier resto de resina que tenía el coche se desprendieron al pasarlo por la pintura. El coche quedó con la pintura muy lisa y muy bien. Aparentemente no generó ninguna marca ni rallada, pero aún no me he fijado porque me parece que quedó bien. En algunas ocasiones habían partículas que se resistían y había que insistir un poco más (con cuidado y sin aplicar presión), quizá en ocasiones una clay bar de grado medio habría funcionado mejor, pero eso es problema de mi inexperiencia y no querer arriesgar.Le he bajado una estrella porque al principio la he encontrado algo dura y difícil de amasar.Llenaros de paciencia porque es un proceso laborioso y aunque es entretenido acabas fatigado.Después de pasar este producto por todo el coche hay que aplicar una cera para proteger la pintura de nuevas incrustaciones. Después de todo el proceso el coche quedó con un tacto muy suave, sin ningún puntito y un brillo genial.La caja en la que se presenta cierra perfectamente y viene con más producto del que esperaba. He hecho el coche por completo y me ha sobrado más o menos la mitad. El producto viene recubierto de un polvo blanco. Para conservarlo he envuelto el sobrante en papel film y lo he encerrado en la caja.En conclusión, buen producto para principiantes por su poca propensión a generar ralladas y el buen acabado que deja. Cumplió perfectamente mis expectativas y eliminó todas las partículas y marcas que tenía la pintura.

Me habían hablado de estas clay bar. Compré esta que indica que es suave por si acaso estropeaba la pintura. En mi caso es suficiente. Suelo limpiar cada poco el coche, encerarlo y demás mimos, pues bien, pasé esta clay bar, echando agua con jabon con un spray y en la parte trasera del vehiculo y en los bajos de las puertas delanteras es increible la suciedad que quita. Al pasar la mano por encima de la chapa se parecia que está totalmente lisa. Es suficiente cantidad, lo podré utilizar para realizar este procedimiento varias veces, es laborioso y se tarda tiempo pero el resultado merece la pena. Me recomendaron después dar cera, el resultado final es como salido de fabrica.

barra de arcilla o claybar para descontaminar la pintura del cocheViene en una caja, cubierta con un papel y llena como de un polvo blanco que mancha bastante.Se coge un trozo y se rocia agua por la carroceria del coche bien limpia y se pasa el trozo de arcilla bien estendido y amasado.recoge mucha suciedad y quita cualquier tratamiento aplicado a la pintura para iniciar de nuevo.

Es la primera vez que uso este tipo de arcilllas para eliminar impurezas de la pintura y la verdad que no puedo estar más contento.Fácil de usar y no deja marca alguna.Yo lo uso con agua un poca jabonosa (no agua solo) como indica las instrucciones y me da muy buenos resultados.La caja no es muy grande , pero bien usada creo que puede dar para 2 coches completosSiempre después de este producto es necesario un sellante de carrocería (cera natural u otro tipo de producto)Calidad /precio excelente.

Es la primera vez que uso tal producto,me decidí por esta porque al tocar pintura no quería arriesgar con algo de baja calidad.La verdad es que no puedo decir más que estoy asombrado.Es facilísimo de usar se rocía agua tanto en el coche como en la clay bar siempre mojado (ver vídeos en internet) y si haces una pequeña prueba con un trocito del coche y pasas la mano ya ves la diferencia de tocar una pintura a otra.Aunque viendo vídeos no crees q se note la verdad es que si.Me parece un gran producto y da para dos coches sin problema.Decir que esta es la versión suave que para novatos como yo es lo más indicado.Os la recomiendo si nunca habéis probado.Luego he dado una capa de abrillantador y el resultado es espectacular.

Leider nicht weiter zu empfehlen . Die Knete ist anfangs sehr weich . Zur mitte oder gar am Ende des Autos wird sie nach jedem umklappen für eine frische Seite immer zäher und härter ! Zum Ende hin super hart und nicht mehr zu gebrauchen .Schade nach den anderen Rezessionen hier und dem stolzen Preis mehr als enttäuscht !Überhaupt nicht weiter zu empfehlen gibt es viel besseres und weicheres auf dem Markt !

Excelente producto.Quería ir a tiro hecho comprando una barrita/masilla blanda y otras que había visto no lo especificaban. Eran más económicas y casi seguro que de la misma calidad pero, por si acaso.En cuanto al producto en sí, perfecto.Con paciencia y con tiempo, vas haciendo todo el coche. Tras pasarlo (siempre húmedo/mojado, ojo), al tacto ya notas el resultado. Poco a poco, la plastilina se va llenando de micro partículas negras que solo se ven al estar todas pegadas a la masilla. Por separado, imposible.verlas.En resumen, producto más caro que la media pero de calidad. La cantidad es suficiente como para cuatro o cinco coches. Si no te cae al suelo, claro... Si no, a la basura y a coger otro trozo.

No note mucha diferencia entre un antes y un después, pero puede ser que mi coche no estaba contaminada tanto. Cuesta mucho hacer un coche entero. No se si lo recomiendo o no....

Es la primera vez que uso una barra de este tipo y me ha parecido muy sencilla de aplicar. Se ha de mantener siempre humeda la superficie del vehiculo que se esta tratando . Conviene tomarselo con calma y aplicar todo lo necesario para que el resultado sea perfecto. Muy contento con el resultado. Cunde mucho.

Muy buen producto,he quedado sorprendido,tenia mi coche lleno de microparticulas de oxido porque lijaron unas rejas de hierro al lado del coche, con un cuarto de producto le he dado a todo el coche un opel vectra,siempre hay que darle en humedo con agua y un poco de jabon,se ha quedado el coche como el culito de un bebè,lo volveria a compar.

lo que queria ,se me quito la pintara de carretera que tenia pegada desde hace mas de 5años

Me ha gustado porque es efectiva. Descontamina muy bien. El coche reluce casi como nuevo, eso sí, prepararos a frotar.

La he utilizado para quitar unas manchas que no se iban. He tardado bastante pero junto con un quick detail se han ido. Impresionante. Espero que se conserve bien su caja. Además la he envuelto con film transparente
