I've always wanted to try one of these lights to see if they'd actually work at all but I never wanted to pay an arm and a leg to do it. WELL. This one is affordable and works for me! Starts to come on about a half hour before whenever your alarm is set. Depending on how buried I am in blankets, I wake up about 85% of the time before my alarm now with this and have been able to ditch the coffee before work habit.It does have different alarm sounds that go off at the time you've set for. I use the quietest setting because anything above it is incredibly piercing and tinny for whatever reason. It's 28$, I wasn't expecting grand things, but still. I suppose if your alarm isn't right next to you it's fine, but the jump from quietest to next-quietest setting is loud.The volumes and the fact that about twice, for a reason I have not discovered yet, the light never came on, only the alarm sound did are the reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5. Also to shut off the alarm I have to pick it up and tap the button on the bottom of it. The sound part, not the light. The light automatically shuts off after an hour.Overall, it's a cute little touch light, it's not super expensive or fancy or anything, and has--to my surprise--been waking me up when that light comes on. It's kind of cool. I wish it had better volumes for the actual alarm, but meh I can live with that.

I purchased one of these sunrise lights about two years ago on Amazon. It was a model that had a circular face and I found that every time I would reach for something on my nightstand the slightest movement seemed to tip it over, sometimes on the floor. That past model also was not very substantial, nor could you use it for anything such as a nice bed side light to do some light reading. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for that to break and of course it was past the 30 day return window.I like this model much, much more than the other model I had. It would be very hard to tip this over and it has some real substantial weight to it. I’m not saying that it’s heavy, but it would take some effort to knock this over vs. the other style I once had. This does not have any kind of radio like my other one, but that’s not why I wanted this product to begin with (and the radio was minimally ok at absolute best). I simply wanted something that would do the sunrise function and would allow me to do it without having the sound of the alarm on. I still want my regular alarm clock to wake me if needed, but I find I don’t really need it with this light. I also like that you can dim or turn off the small time display at the base of the model. With 3 lighting levels I find that it’s more than adequate for a little reading.If you are looking for a model with all kinds of bells and whistles I’m not sure this would be the model for you. However, if you’re looking for a solid unit that will wake you up as the sunrise function, especially if you don’t want sounds, this should satisfy you.Also, I don’t have Prime. Ordered this on a Monday evening and received it early Thursday evening. Nice bonus.

I got this for my husband thinking he might like it but if not, I would like the daylight settings for myself. (He is hard to please.)He played with it all day and really liked it.There is a shiny clear case covering it, giving it a classier aesthetic. You just tap the top silver piece. It’s not a button, it’s just sensitive to the touch. The 3 daylight settings are very nice. My husband loved the color changing light mode and that he could stop it on any color he wanted to keep it at that color.He figured out all the settings without the manual so it’s user friendly. And it let him use military time. It doesn’t work when not plugged in but it will remember the correct time when you plug it back in the wall.The 4 noise settings to help sleep were basic but still nice. I prefer using my app instead for that.Hope that helps give an additional description so you can be confident in your purchase!

The daylight aspect of this is perfect for what I wanted. I received it right in time to put it to the test having to be out of bed 2 hours earlier than normal this week. It got me partially awake before my set time so that when the alarm sounded I wouldn’t hit the snooze button.The only downside is that alarm. The volume that it gets to is deafening and the natural sound loop way too quickly. If there was a way to not select an actual alarm sound just so I could have my phone alarm go off in its stead I would.Edit - I’ve since found the volume adjustment for the max alarm sound. I still wish there was a way to just stop that aspect.

Overall, well-designed. Looks fine on the nightstand. I really like waking up to gentle light rather than being jolted by an alarm in the dark. The different alarm sound settings are great— you can’t easily discern the loop, like you can in other alarms. It starts quietly and gets louder. And there are some pleasant choices, such as bells. Snooze is activated by just touching the top of the lamp. You can set the sound levels and brightness of display, and turn the time display off, even while alarm is set.The only negative imo is that you can’t unplug it and use battery only if you want to see the display and use the alarm. It would be nice to be able to use it without being hooked up to power. (It doesn’t need to be reset if unplugged, you just can’t see the time or use the alarm unplugged).

My daughter got this for Christmas! She loves it!! She said it's very nice to wake up to.

I wish it had more setting options for the brightness and gradual alarm.

This sunrise light only has 3 light levels, so it isn't a very "gradual" sunrise in my opinion, and it uses white light rather than gradual brightening from red-orange-yellow-white, which seems strange considering it does have these color capabilities. I like the touch sensitive controls and it makes a good bedtime light.
