Amazon Basics 4-Pack, Rechargeable C Cell NiMH Batteries, 5000maAh, Recharge up to 1000x Times , Pre-Charged

Bought as replacement for use in Roberts Radio with internal charger. Previous cells worked well for many years, but latterly would not accept or retain charge. I selected these based on positive reviews and a good price, (not seeking the cheapest....just best value). Too early to give an accurate review of longevity / life, but the initial experience is very good & I have confidence that these will last well. I am pleased.

If you have a young child/baby you will find that so many devices that help sooth your child or toys run on these ancient type of expensive rubbish batteries.These have been a lifesaver for my newborn sons rocking cott with vibration. Just remember to purchase a charger for these. They also have decent battery life and are great quality and value, lithium ion would be better but these are just fine for the task

Easy to use good charger speed good quality nice fit

I bought these after reading positive reviews that verified their capacity. First impressions were good as they were quite heavy - always a good indicator of battery capacity. On my digital scales the cells weighed about 160g each, which is about right for genuine 10,000mAh 'D' cells.As they were on special offer, I bought 2 packs of 4 to meet the minimum order value for free delivery. All 8 cells were manufactured in April 2020, and they all measured between 1.275v - 1.285v.I put them on charge to make sure they were fully charged before doing any capacity checks. The charge rate was 1 Amp & took about 2 hours to fully charge them all, so they already had something like 80% of their capacity available. Assuming they were fully charged on the manufacturing date of April 2020 before being sealed in their boxes, that's a self-discharge rate of about 20% in 7 months.Initial capacity checks at a calibrated 1.5 Amp constant current discharge to 1v per cell gave around 9500-9700mAh on my test equipment. This is an excellent result for a first capacity check, as NiMHs need several charge/discharge cycles to reach full rated capacity & there's no doubt that they will reach 10000mAh after bedding-in.With the Black Friday discount & free delivery, the total cost for 8 x genuine 10,000mAh 'D' cells was just £33.68. That's astonishing value for money & I can recommend these batteries very highly. Just make sure you give them enough time to charge up properly, as 10,000mAh capacity takes a long time to fully charge.Cheap chargers almost certainly won't even deliver their rated charging current, and you may end up blaming the batteries when it's your charger that's causing the problem. Even a genuine 1Amp charger is going to take all night to recharge a completely flat cell...

When it said Amazon basics I thought uuh maybe not so good. However I was surprised.Had no issues. Fast charge. Great quality. Use on my radio to save electrice as my programme on Tv I have on is available on the radio and Im too busy cleaning to watch it anyway. This way its like having the Tv on without the power.Yey. They are suprisingly light weight too unlike other bulky heavy batteries.Would definitely buy them again.

I was surprised to find that the Amazon C cells were 5,111, 5,008, 5,029, 5,099 mAh respectively on a pack of four. They tested as pretty low impedance too. Yes I dont like that it says "Amazon Basics" on them! But they are one of the few cells that actually do what it says on the tin.The typical C cell that you see on here like the EBL for e.g all CLAIM 5,000mAh. When I tested the EBL C cells they are just 3,200mAh. + or - 25mAh. Thats a plain lie! And this iss after 5 full cycles. No they did not improve much.I have been thoroughly p******d off by the number of cells bought from many different sources over the years that turned out to be totally misrepresented and the capacity being plain lies. They scam people because they can get away with it. Most people never test them. It seems only japanese made cells are any good! Never tested any chinese made cell that met its capacity claims. Some are terrible!These are exactly what they claim to be. 5,000 mAh plus! On cycle 1.Cant comment of the self discharge rate as I only got these a day ago.
