Easy reading and wonderful information.

Good short read of the autobiography of Matthew Scott and his relationship with Jumbo the elephant. Matthews story gives some interesting insight into his work in other areas of animal husbandry also. Very sad end to a magnificent elephant, that did not have a good life, but was used in appalling ways throughout his life for monetary gain!

A fascinating read from a unique man with a uniquely old-fashioned style of prose. Lovely to get to know about Jumbo from someone who truly loved him. Such a shame Jumbo's 'wife' Alice isn't better known.
