I love this lampshade! Exactly as described, better even! Well constructed, not flimsy, nice and sturdy. I have it on a lamp that takes some abuse from my dog by a window and no dents, dings or damage. Better than described, so nice to open the box and pop it on the lamp! No self assembly grief here, just a really nice lampshade. Couldn't be happier with this purchase and I will shop with this seller again.

I bought this shade because I searched everywhere to find one but just couldn’t find the right size. I have never tried to assemble one but I thought that I could get my husband to assemble it, well my husband refused said that I never should have bought it. I took it to my brother- in-law and he agreed to assemble it for me. I picked it up put it in my car and by the time I got home, I opened the car door to get it out of the back seat and to my surprise the thing had fallen apart!!! My brother-in- law told me to bring it back. This time he bought some gorilla glue and he promised me that this time it would not fall apart. He also told me that he used paper clips to hold it in place as he glued it together. I have not had any more problems and I have no regrets of buying it. The lamp shade is just perfect and I would buy it again and take it to my brother-in-law and have him to put it together.

If I wanted to build an erector set, I would have ordered an erector set. These lamp shades arrive in pieces, that, by they way, don’t fit together easily, require a seriously small screw driver and caused me to lose my cool on multiple occasions. I have never taken time to write a review before, but am having such a bad experience that I felt a responsibility to others.

The assembly of this lampshade went very well. The design is flawless, and the execution top notch. It’s sturdy and very attractive, and was exactly what I wanted. It was fun to put together, fun in the sense that the process and the result were free of glitches or frustrations. I have only one issue: the “spider” and the plastic forming ring at the lower edge of the shade are white. In a black and gold shade, I’d rather they were black.

Easy to assemble, took all of 5 minutes. great shape and size for larger lamps.

Assembly took time. Unless you're absolutely sure this is what you want, go to a lamp shop, buy a shade and be done with the project. These aren't anything special and the assembly is difficult. I'm not particularly impressed with the quality for the high price.

This was a unique purchase. 8 had missed the note that you had to "put the shade together". Imagine my surprise when I received a small rectangular box.After an initial hesitation, I gave it a shot. Was easy to put together and looks great in the bedroom. Creates the perfect ambiance.

As several others have written in their review...I did realize this lampshade required assembly...but it's my fault for not reading reviews prior to purchase. For the price the lampshade is of adequate quality for the the lamp I needed it for. I LOVE the black/gold combination and it gives a nice warm glow when lit. The assembly is not difficult and I did watch the video prior to attempting and found it helpful...yes, it moves quickly so i kept pausing it but all in all it took me about 10 minutes to get it all together. Lampshades are ridiculously expensive and this one is of decent quality for the price...not sure if it is fabric? but it is a good buy for the price. My only complaint....as others have mentioned as well...is that the metal piece on the top of the lamp that goes on the harp is SO thick I could barely get a finial to attach and I tried several that I had...may have to just find a nut to fit more securely....also, another reviewer mentioned the white hardware on the black/gold lamp was annoying so she spray painted it gold...i may do something along those lines as it is quite noticeable but for now it works. Would definitely buy more of these shades for the quality and price point....plus it was kind of a fun project to put together!!

I search locally all over for affordable lampshades to replace the old (20+ years) shades I had. Nowhere I checked had them, and after extensive seaching on Amazon and reading through the reviews, I decided to give this a try. I bought 2 at first for my living room (the bigger size - 14*14*11) and they made a great impact to modernizing the space. They were very easy to install (I'm fairly handy); all extra needed was a small screwdriver and a little "elbow grease". Probably took me 15 minutes to assemble both; I didn't need to reread the instructions after I did the first.So I ordered these smaller ones (13*13*10) for my bed side lamps. I personally would prefer them smaller, like maybe 10*10*10, but the 13*10 is not a deal breaker for me.They were delivered on time and in good condition. Persons commenting on the seam where it joins, but it's not an issue for me as all my lamps are directly infront walls so I turn the seams to the back (facing the wall).. plus its an ASSEMBLY REQUIRED item... I can't think of how else they could have better designed it to make it more seamless. I think its a great design and perfect for shipping.All in all a great buy and I hope they will last long. (I received and assembled mine December 2021)

I bought the 13x13x10 size in white. I hadn’t read that assembly was required when I placed my order, but that’s my fault because I wasn’t paying attention when I added it to my cart. That being said, they are easy to put together. The pieces that make up the top and bottom rings are made of plastic. I did end up snapping one of the plastic bits at the end of one the pieces but I just used krazy glue and made it work. Aside from that, the only other thing I would address would be the price. I could’ve bought an already assembled white lamp shade (with rings made of some sort of wire/metal) at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Winners, Homesense, etc in the same price range ($24.99 to $29.99). So the fact that assembly is required, and that it is possible to have the plastic break during assembly (I wasn’t rough with it), I don’t think it should cost most than $19.99 each. But if you don’t feel like making a trip to a store, and don’t mind putting them together yourself, then go for it :) They do look pretty (as you can see in my photo).
