Gaiam SPRI Exercise Mat

Q: Does this mat tear or flake apart if you're doing more high intensity stuff on it, like mountain climbers or burpees?

I've had the mat for almost a year now and it's still intact. I use it mainly for stretching, yoga routines and some floor exercises (i.e. sit ups, leg lifts, bridge and plank exercises, etc). The mat is very well cushioned and flexible so when you're on it, it doesn't feel like you're directly on the floor, unlike standard yoga mats. That said I would not recommend doing jumping jacks or any cardio workout on it, as the few times I've tried to do them it feels like the mat is stretching out underneath me, however, it has not torn or flaked. I just didn't like that it moved so much. Also this mat is not as long as a standard yoga mat, which is it's only downside. Hope this helps.

Yes, their is a strap sold threw Amazon for under $10.00

Q: can I use this for jump rope?

One can use it jump rope, however the larger the better.
