’ve been using the SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD for several months now, and it’s become an indispensable tool for my creative work. This lil hard drive is AMAZING. Straight out the box it’s ready to use. It’s Formatted in ExFAT format. I plugged it into my MacBook Pro M2 laptop 💻 & it picked up immediately. Transfer speed: It took about 2hrs 37mins to transfer over approx 40,000+ songs. I started at 10:10a & finished 12:47pm. That’s a lot of songs iykyk. It copied aprox 379.16 gb that quickly. My 1TB thumb drive took over 4 hrs for the same transfer.While plugged into the computer I didn’t hear any noise. It’s very quiet. It comes with the tiny drive a USB-C to USB-C plug & a USB-C to USB-A adapter for older computers or ones with no USB-C ports. For those saying it’s not truly 2TB, straight out the Box it had 80.7mb used. I’m guessing that’s the security software for Mac & Windows computer. As you can see in the pic I still had 2TB BEFORE copying 40,0000+ songs STILL left me with about 1.62 TB available.During the 2 hour transfer it was warm. Definitely not hot, but warm as expected.This is a great value for the price because I saw another retailer sell the 1TB for around this same price. This drive can definitely store 2TB! (See pics)Oh & I plugged it into my iPhone 16 Pro Max & it picked up immediately. You have to make sure you hear/feel that “click” when you plug it in. My husband has an Android phone Galaxy S25 & it picked up immediately on his phone also. Def a WIN!I haven’t plugged it into my iPad Pro 12.9” yet but if it works on my phone & my Mac I’m sure I’ll have no problems.I plan to carry this with me at ALL times since it can hold so much music. The only thing is I wish it would have come with is a carabiner clip. I got one & hooked it to it.

I was a looking for a fast and reliable way to back up my 8Tb Samsung SSD drive. I think I found it !! With a combination of the Ease US ToDo Backup program and using the USB 3.0 on the back of my computer of my old Dell desktop, files were backing up at over 250Mb/sec which is not the fastest I've seen using these SanDisk devices, but perfectly acceptable to me as long as I can trust them and they hold my data securely.The entire 8Tb internal Samsung SSD backed up in 6 hours which is faster than any other method I have tried so far. Even though I prefer a bit copy transfer device because the finished disk is ready to boot and try when done, this method appears to be an alternate way of backing up my data. Possibly this will be a "Every other time" backup to my bit copy. I try not to let more than 3 months go by between my backups and at least one before and after tax time or any other major change on my stored data.

This drive is incredibly small and very fast considering its large storage size of 86b. Using the usb C port on my computer, it works as fast as my slower m.2 cards. I use it as a backup drive because it's form factor makes it easy to store in my laptop case. The other amazing thing is that during my backup, the drive remains cool, barely warm to the touch. Samsung did an amazing thing designing this drive. This will be my first of many. I also have owned a 4tb version of this card since it came out. I don't remember it being this fast.

This is as good as it gets (in my humble opinion). I bought two of the 2TB versions so this review is only applicable to that size drive. I think these are available in 4TB size but that was too big for my purposes. At any rate, I am very happy with these little devices. Some have reported heat problems with these but I've not experienced that symptom with either of my two. Speed wise, these are WAY fast. I can download a 2Gb file in about 5 seconds. These little drives are truly plug & play. No new drivers were required to ensure proper connectivity on my Win 11 laptop. Would I buy this item again....absolutely. I highly recommend this amazing little device. It's worth every penny I paid for it.
