Q: Would this work to disperse powdered sugar in a bee hive for varroa mites?

Hello, Thank you for your question. Powdered sugar is a similar consistency of diatomaceous earth powder and you might see the same results with the Insect Buster but we can only stand by our satisfaction guarantee when our product is used with DE powder.

Q: how far distance does it spray/spread? I want to go into a cellar with crickets and spray them from distance.

It really depend on how hard you squeeze the bulb. For standard cracks and crevices, you won't have any problems distributing powder into them. If you are trying to hit a "target" from a distance, I'd say you'd be good to about 3-4 feet. Once you start squeezing too hard, the powder has a tendency to billow into a cloud more than maintaining a stream.

Q: Can this product be used for wet dispersement of DE?

Hello, Thank you for your question. When Diatomaceour Earth is wet it may be more prone to clumping making it harder to disperse. The Insect Buster does contain a metal ball to help break up clumps.
