Does what I need it to do
I found a 4K Blu Ray player (LG UP875) at a thrift store for $8 and decided to take a chance on it. The player worked perfectly except for the fact that it was turning on whenever I turned on the TV or receiver. I figured it was a CEC issue. I searched the manual and online but the answer seemed to be that there was no way to fix this issue in the settings. This adapter was the fix. I figured I would lose the ability to use the volume and input commands, but those continue to function without the player getting turned on by the other equipment. I hate that I had to drop over double the cost of the player on this adapter, but I'm still way ahead of what it would cost to buy something new. Recommended.

Great adapter that works as advertised
Works exactly as advertised. My DirecTV Gemini box kept changing my inputs and turning on/off my TV seemingly at random. Was very frustrating trying to watch anything. Installed this adapter and all problems instantly stopped. So happy to have found this adapter and that it actually works.

Works As Advertised - Computer Connected to TV
I set up an M4 Mac mini to run as an always on server and connected it to one of the HDMI ports on an LG C2 for the infrequent time when I needed to physically access the machine. This resulted in two issues: (1) the Mac thought it was "sharing" a mirrored display to the LG at all times and (2) when I would remotely access the Mac it would turn on the LG only to immediately turn it off which wasn't ideal. After attached this adapter to the Mac mini and then connecting the HDMI cable from the TV I can confirm that the Mac no longer thinks it's sharing a virtual display AND the TV no longer turns on when I remote into the server. I have no complaints.

Apple CEC is truly annoying
This thing does what it says. Plug it in and cec is over!

Soundbar
Worker as intended. It blocks a CEC. Ended up returning it since it did not resolve my Samsung Soundbar dropping arc. I ended up settling and turned bitstream off and going back to pcm. With this product just be mindful of your HDMI port location as its basically the size of the bulky end of your typical HDMI cable. You might not have enough room to run your HDMI cord or need something with a right angle.

Did not work for me!
I got a new TV (Sony XR-55X90J). It has the theoretical ability to control all your devices with its remote. It was not working well with my cable box (Arris DCX3600M, Spectrum Cable provider). The cable box plugs into TV via HDMI interface. Simple enough. After some research I found that the cable box has been know to interfere with HDMI CEC [Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to allow users to command and control devices connected through HDMI by using only one remote control]. The research also indicated that a way to mitigate the interference is to turn off CEC for that device. It turns out that pin 13 of HDMI cables carries CEC signal. The BlueRigger 4K HDMI CEC Less Adapter was supposed to eliminate the CEC signal. It did not work for me.I had also tried the Lindy HDMI CEC Less Adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Lindy-HDMI-Adapter-Female-41232/dp/B00DL48KVI/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd_rd_i=B00DL48KVI&psc=1). This worked well for me.

Had to return - Didn’t block Roku HDMI-CEC signal
My Roku Ultra 4K has a very annoying behavior of shutting off my TV. I did some online research and found posts on Reddit suggesting HDMI-CEC signal causes the issue. I went through my Roku’s settings, hoping I could find a means to turn off the CEC signal but found nothing. I purchased this dongle, hoping it would block the CEC signal that keeps turning off my TV. Unfortunately, when I installed the dongle, it failed to block the signal. I tried plugging the dongle in-line with the HDMI cable into the back of my Roku Ultra 4K, then into the back of my receiver, and finally into back of TV. In none of those three configurations did it successfully stop the CEC signal from shutting off the TV. I’m very disappointed, as I was hoping this would finally fix this ongoing problem. I gave the device three stars because it arrived quickly and is a nice looking device. It just did not work for my use case.
