Review for AC1200 Version
My old wifi hotspot device (Netgear Aircard 762) started to play up so I had to get a replacement.Looking on the market I say this device as a similar replacement. The D-Link DWR 933 performs as expected, it has a WPS button, a clear LCD display and so far I have managed to get 80mbps from my 4g connection (which is really good)The device settings are accessed by a web page, and it is pretty informative (even better that my old access point's web interface. You can set all the passwords and internet settings here, it has very complex settings that are fully customisableI am currently using this device with 4 attached devices.. they all work well and perform again as expected. You can connect either 2.4 or 5 ghz as there are 2 separate wifi access points on the device. Range is very good I have my laptop connected in another room and the signal is very strong.Cannot really fault the device but would like to be able to view TXT messages with the built in LCD screen instead of having to log onto the device to view the TXT.The device will not work witout the battery inserted, my old hotspot would work on USB power without a battery, as I was at home most of the time and didnt need to use the devices battery. The hotspot also has a micro sd slot so you can use the device as a network storage device. Handy to share files over your own network. When On battery the hotspot lasts well over 10 hours with lots of use.Pros• Good Value• Compact• Removable battery• Good display• Long battery lifeCons• Wont run on USB power only (needs battery in device)• LCD screen is tiny• Micro USB port (should be USB C really)Can recommend this product if you are after a wifi 4G Hotsport

Junk!
It initially connected to the Three network OK but after about 30 minutes the speed fell from 50mps to 3mps maximum and I couldn't get any improvement even after several full resets. Then I started get an error message saying my new HP ZBook is unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network (my old copper wifi connects fine) so that decided the fate of the unit. Wi-Fi coverage was average, placing it in the hall at the centre of a 4 bed 1930's house gave a pretty reasonable signal everywhere but because it's a 5g router it needed to be at the back of the house to get a fast network connection which left the front rooms without a useable signal. This unit doesn't have mesh technology so you can't add a wireless extender.First thing to note is you need to connect via a cat5 cable to configure it, most laptops don't have this but fortunately my USB C monitor does, you can't use an app to set it up. The admin console is pretty much the same as my 10 year old D-Link ADSL modem/router and takes 30 seconds to process any changes but the firmware seems stuck on V 1.0 and won't upgrade, on such an old model of router seems strange that it's on V1 from the factory. Full system reset both using the console and also the reset button hasn't helped to resolve any of the issues. Also worth noting the sim slot is for a full size, they do provide a carrier for a micro sim but it's pretty rubbish and I'm now struggling to get my sim card out of the device, another annoyance is the power cable is ridiculously short. Although it's 5g it feels really dated, the user interface is clunky and the lack of an app really doesn't help it.

This hub has an easy to use set-up wizard
This hub has an easy to use set-up wizard and allows advanced settings for the technically minded to play with IPv4 and IPv6 wi-fi and it accepts various sized Sim Cards in the same slot (micro size sits on a tray). It has both an 3G/LTE mobile network ariel and a wi-fi ariel, either or both maybe replaced with an external ariel in poor reception areas. It doesn't appear to have as sensitive a receiver part as my old D-link hub had (no internet available at around -67dBm) using my 6M high externally mounted ariel, so only gets four stars, because I needed change mobile provider to get a more usable signal.

Great battery life and portability
I brought these for our work from home situation, me and my wife works from home and our bandwidth demand is pretty high. The best part is it's screen, this will show all the info you need along with signal strength and network selection. The worst part is the UI will get stuck at times and you have to restart it.I had to return the first unit i purchased after 6 months as it stoped getting mobile signal, contacted Dlink and they told me to do a return to replacement, which would take about 10 days so i called amazon and was able to get a replacement the very next day.One annoying thing is that i cannot get a Ip access via computer to this router, But most of the common issues you faces will be address on the device screen; but for advance use router accesses is essential, which i cannot figure out, how to get into. The portability is amazing, wish it had an option for an external antenna. If you are buying these i would make sure to buy from amazon as a seller rather than a third party seller so in case it died of lose the ability to get signal ( like i had) you can get it swapped for a new one.
