SSH, The Secure Shell: The Definitive Guide

Book is in excellent shape and timely delivery make for a great transaction. As far as the book content, you should already know the gist of the story before you buy the book, otherwise why would you buy the definitive guide. Embrace secure computing with SSH.

I like the thorough coverage of the subject. I overestimated the benefit for my purposes that were to just know how to connect 2 computers on the same home network. It is very technical, which is somewhat expected. I am still trying to read all the way through. I recommend it to those needing all aspects of setting up a secure connection.

Guys at work laughed when I got this: Wow, nearly 700 pages and it only has the "essentials"!? Of course, we all use ssh every single day, but it takes O'Reilly (or source code) to figure out EVERYTHING it's good for. The product arrived within the alotted time and was in "good" condition as advertised. It also let me take it out of my bookshelf slot on Safari On Line for a fraction of what it would otherwise have cost.

The contents of the book are perfect for what I bought it for however I bought a used copy to save a couple bucks and it smells overwhelming of smoke and hemp oil so much so that it gives me a headache when I try to read🤮

Start here to learn SSH (but it helps to have a 'NIX background first!). Follow up with the Michael Lucas book for later updates and special advanced techniques.

The subject matter is well covered. But the O’Reilly books are always good

This is my go-to book when I need to dig under the covers and really figure out some bit of ssh. A highly valued and much used reference book. Strongly recommended!

This book is well written with illustrated examples. It's easy to read and presents the concepts in a concise manner which has made it very easy to come up to speed on SSH quickly.

Just how I wanted...Perfect

Das Buch führt sehr umfassend in SSH (am Beispeil von OpenSSH und Tectia) ein. Wer plant, eines der beiden Produkte einzusetzen sollte sich das Buch näher anschauen. Aber auch sonst bietet das Buch einen allgemeinen Überblick über die Technik von SSH.Einige spezielle Themen (z.B. x509 Zertifikate mit OpenSSH) haben mir aber gefehlt.
