Number one!
These jack stands were rated #1 by a poplar and well-established online product tester. On his video, you could see the stability, and just how well-built they are. That was good enough for me. I also loved the locking pin feature.

High quality jack stands and can be easily disassembled when storage space is limited.
This is my first pair of jack stands, still new to working on my own car. There was a video on YouTube that rigorously tested many jack stands on the market on various metrics. This pair consistently ranked as a top performer. The major selling point was the flat base. I've used them multiple times and they have not left any indentation or markings on the cement. Yes, they have to be use on flat ground, but I'm not risking jacking a car up on anything that's not flat. Them being aluminum, they're very light and easy to carry.Even better and not expected, these can be easily disassembled. There's just a single Philips head screw that holds the vertical red piece into the silver base. I live in an apartment without a garage where storage is limited. When I know I won't be using them for a while, I unscrew the base and put them back in box. The box is very small, the size of a large reference book, making them something I can throw anywhere.Price wise, these are not cheap when you can buy other 3-ton jack stands for half the price. I still justified paying it because superior tested metrics and other value added features (light weight, non-damaging base, store well). One issue. The stand tops are flat. My car has pinch welds necessitating buying rubber pinch weld adapters. Like these, those adapters sold separately are not cheap since they are a more niche product and hard to find. I found a better price than the one on Amazon, so shop around.

Beautiful (as far as a jack stand goes)
Premium price for a beautiful looking jack stand (if you’re into that kind of thing, lol). Couple of negatives. for such an otherwise beautifully designed product, mine came with some casting “flash” which prevented the locking pin from seating as can be seen in the first photo. Not a big deal as it took less than 10secs with a Dremel tool to correct but probably should have been done at the factory.Despite all the comments that the chain is too short, I had no problems with mine. Either the manufacturer corrected this and made the chain longer, or rather I suspect that those with complaints did not follow the assembly directions correctly and did not align the base in line with the hole. Plenty of chain available to place the pin and you don’t want to get tangled in excess. The ball detent in the pin is not really retentive, but the pin will not move with the weight of the vehicle on it.The major complaint is that lack of availability of a jack pad adapter. I am “jury rigging” this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081JRFFJ3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details as seen in the photos but it is not ideal. This seems made of a durable rubber but is not made specifically for the jack pad on this stand, but it is the only one available that comes close. My Mercedes does not have pinch rails but this rubber pad works in conjunction with another aluminum jack pad adapter made specifically for my car. This rubber pad can be placed on the stand’s pad with either the pinch weld slot perpendicular to the jack stand pin (as in photos 4-6) or parallel to the jack stand pin (as in photos 7-9). Because of the raised “wings” on the jack stand’s pads, either way the middle of the rubber pad is not adapted to the stand’s pad (as you can see in photo 9) unless the rubber slot is placed perpendicular to the stand’s pin, in which case the pad will be “crushed” onto the stand’s pad by your pinch weld. For those of you with pinch welds, this is probably the safest orientation since if the rubber splits or fails, at least your pinch weld will be parallel to the raised “wings” on the jack stand’s pad. Unfortunately, this is the orientation that is also the least retentive orientation of the rubber pad to the jack stand pad so that you have to be extremely careful (which you should be anyways) when lowering your vehicle onto the jack stand so that the rubber pads stay in place. If you orient the rubber pads so that it’s groove is parallel to the jack stand pin, then the rubber pad is much more retentive on the stand pad, but then your stand pad wings will not be in the most stable orientation with regards to your frame rail or pinch welds should the rubber fail by splitting or tearing. My most critical review of this jack stand is that the manufacturer should make a rubber jack pad adapter that is specifically made for this jack stand. Some users have glued the rubber pads to this stand (which is a shame since it will be more of hassle when the rubber pads wear, or have resorted to making there own adapters using 2x4s). Since I do not have pinch welds on my car, I will stabilize the pads using either zip ties in the groove, or velcro in the center of the pad. Either should work since once the weight of the vehicle is on the rubber pad (assuming the weight is not at an angle), the pad is not going anywhere. There are many, many adapters available for the other type of common crescent shaped jack stand supports but the jack support pad on this one type of stand (the Torin stand) is unique and no pads that specifically fit are available. A jack stand which is otherwise so well made should not require “jury rigging” a fix to make it work.
