Thermaltronics TMT-2000S-K Soldering System w/SHP-K 100-240VAC

This is a seriously good value for a serious good piece of kit! I own and use several commercial soldering stations (as soldering is critical for my job) including ERSA, Edsyn, Weller and Hakko. Each station has its strong points but in my experience with the Thermaltronics RF station, it has the best mix of performance to price and reasonably priced, easily obtainable consumables. I am extremely pleased with how well the soldering station regulates temperature and compensates for the thermal mass of the item you are soldering. It can dump a lot of energy into the tip (if needed) and maintains fairly accurate tip temperatures. It does not appear to suffer from excessive thermal overshoot and heats-up within a couple of seconds. By the time you remove the soldering iron from the holder and to your work piece, it will likely be at operating temperature. The tips are well made, inexpensive and should last for a very long time given the tips are essentially turned off when placed in the holder. The iron handle is well built and very comfortable. The tip to grip distance is outstanding! It varies but with the 6 tips I have it is between 2" to 2.5" at maximum. A solid station with great performance and extremely reasonably priced accessories and consumables. Thank you.

This is the perfect iron for quick and easy soldering jobs. No need to spend any more on fancy rigs.

I ordered this excellent soldering iron and was quite excited to open the box and do some soldering.Unfortunately what you see on the picture is not what you get. The set is missing the tip. As such it it is useless.So I had to order the tip for some $20 separately and still wait for it .
