40W T9 Circular Warm White Tube

I have had four circular light fittings for over 12 years now but when I had to change a tube recently I was unable to get it locally at either Wickes or B&Q .................in fact I was told these tubes are no longer available due to the progress of LEDsSo my next step was to check on line and was very pleased to find them here and a big Thank You goes to Amazon and Crompton Lamps.I initially ordered one, just in case there may be any problems with the compatibility but rest assured none arose and the light works perfectly.So I then ordered two more as a back up and "hey ho" about a week later another one of the tubes required replacing (I put this down to having bought it around the same time I bought the first one).I now have one spare but will not hesitate to order more :)

I had some difficulty acquiring this 40 watt unit as the original one sent had, seemingly, gotten lost in the post. I ,eventually received a replacement for the lost tube today and it works as it ought to.I did not want a 60 watt tube even though they are more easily available but are too bright for the room. I must make a positive comment on the packaging. A box covered in layer after layer of bubble wrap with a further skin comprising of metres of sticky tape and all within an outer plastic dispatch envelope. It was so well packaged that it was a challenge to get it all off. No way was the tube ever going to be broken in transit.Eamonn

Five years ago, I paid an electrician £26 to replace a similar tube to this. Via Amazon, I recently bought this new replacement tube for under £7, had it safely and promptly delivered, and fitted it myself. Very easy to fit (the ceiling fitting has a 4 pin plug that connects with a 4 pin socket on the tube) so unlike the straight tubes that can require a bit of manhandling whilst stood on a stepladder.The only word of warning is to disconnect the old tube and measure the diameter (and count the pins on the ceiling fitting connector) before you decide which size of tube to buy. In addition, you need to ensure that you buy a tube with the SAME type of socket (number of pin sockets) as the old tube in order to be able to connect it properly.

Great value, being half the price I could find one for in the shops. Very easy to fit. This replaces another Crompton tube I'd had for quite a number of years, so let's hope this lasts as long. I was a little nervous about ordering an item like this through the post in case it got broke, but reviewers said how well packaged theirs was, so took the chance. It arrived in good time and was indeed very well packaged. No risk of it getting broken with normal handling, or even being accidentally dropped.
