Expensive, but worth every penny. Long term savings!!
UPDATEI bought these clippers 7 years ago today, they have not faltered once, I add a little oil to the blades after every use and they are still going as strong today as when I first had them 7 years ago. No regrets buying these at all. After years of buying cheaper clippers and having them stop working within months, I decided on purchasing a quality set that would last for many years to come, having researched extensively I kept coming back to the Oster brand, the Classic 67 was the clippers being regularly mentioned, but they need a transformer to work in the UK, so a little more research revealed the Oster 97, which is good to go straight from the box with a UK plug and no transformer required. The unit feels sturdy and well made and comes with a guide on care and maintenance, and a few spare internal parts, which are easily replaced when worn out, you also get some grease, oil, cleaning brush and one blade, a size 0000 which is a bit close to the bone, but extra blades can be purchased and are easily interchangeable, the instructions advise the clippers be running when you push the blade into place. Having purchased a 1A size blade I was ready to go. The clippers cut really well, the unit feels heavier than my previous cheaper clippers, but not to an excessive degree. A real bonus was the length of the power lead, which is more than enough to reach my bathroom from the plug socket, something my previous clippers couldn't manage without an extension lead. The noise when running is a bit louder than the cheaper ones I have used, but these are professional clippers that a barber would use all day in his shop, a quality motor that's built to last, so no issue for me. You don't get a storage case with these, but luckily after so many cheaper clippers had been binned I had a few spare cases to use. I've been using the Oster 97 for nearly six months now, around twice a month and have no complaints whatsoever, and because they cut so well, I find I finish cutting my hair much quicker than before. My only regret is I did not purchase the Oster 97 years ago and not wasted my money on inferior products.

The best hair clippers on the market
These are the UK voltage version of the (apparently) world famous, industry standard Oster Classic 76. They come with a hardwired 240V 3-pin UK plug. Fit a comb, plug them in, switch on, and away you go.These things are really solid, like properly weighty, they feel extremely good quality - and with a good length power cable. Bought the best clippers I could find after lockdown meant that I looked like I’d developed an allergy to barbers. I also bought the 10-piece Oster comb attachment set, because the clippers have none as standard. Definitely spend the money on that as well. My wife reckons my hair looks better after I had a go myself with these, than it usually does from the barber. A mate said he’d had worse haircuts that he’d paid for. Really easy to use to get a decent cut - I even managed a slight fade! Longer on top, so just used the clippers against my fingers, no comb. Can’t see a reason to go back to the barbers. The downside? They are pretty heavy, not uncomfortably so, and I can quite happily cut my whole head without feeling like I was trying to lift a holiday suitcase overhead for 30 minutes. Also, they get pretty warm, pretty quickly, but then just seem to stay at that temperature. The good? The blade comes with a 0000 metal comb, like an electric razor, but a closer shave. Very precise. Very safe. I’ve never tried anything like this before - and it’s dead easy. Watch a couple of videos to get your technique down - use the combs. You can do the back of your head blind. I bought a extra mirror, but haven’t used it. And, most importantly, no hair gets into the area under the clipper blade. Literally, none. It stops everything. Cleaning it is the easiest thing. It also comes with oil and stuff to keep the moving parts happy. Makes my £50 beard trimmer feel like a toy from a cracker.Big, heavy, very high quality. Feels like it’ll do years of service with missing a beat. Flatters a complete novice - very easy to cut your own hair with. I imagine using on sometime else would be a doddle. The missus won’t let me try it on her, so can’t confirm for certain.Got inspired after reading George Clooney has cut his own hair for over 20 years. Can confirm it’s easy and very rewarding, but can also sadly confirm you do not end up looking like George.

Oster 97-60 Heavy Duty Clippers/Oster 076097-44-000
i already own a pair of these Clippers for around 10 years now so i know how good they are.my pair are Burgundy Red Model Oster Salon Series 97-60L. this second pair i got on amazon arefor my brother he bought them because he was tired of buying cheap Clippers as there no goodthey stick in your hair and don't cut it right. cheap Clippers are a total waste of time and money.these cost a lot more but you get what you pay for. i've been using my pair for years withouta problem. these are great clippers. it says in amazons description that this is Model: Oster 97-60.but this new pair my brother received are Black in colour Model: Oster 076097-44-000.so if you buy them you might get the Black model or Burgundy red model. it doesn't really matter.the only difference is the colour. the 97-60L is Burgundy Red. and the 076097-44-000 is black in colour.apart from that they are technically the same clippers in every other way. both models are 230v ~50/60Hz 45w.great Clippers. Highly recomended
