Really useful piece of kit
Love it! a) it was really simple to setup using WPS b) performance is great, same performance from its ethernet port as a direct 5G WiFi connection to the router/AP, c) didn't realize when I bought it - it acts as a wifi repeater so I've now got rid of a dead spot in my house. Really happy and wanted to let others know about this!

Worked very well on a BT TV box in place of network extenders
I picked up on a couple of other reviewers who had bought this specifically to use with the BT TV box (which only has a wired network capability), instead of having to use the BT extenders through the mains cabling. While the extenders can work well, I found the signal to the box dropped out completely at certain points in the evening (no idea why, maybe interference on the mains cable), causing it to show an error for a while until it reconnected. Usually at crucial points in football games! It drove me mad. This was very easy to setup with my BT router. I used the WPS auto facility with the wifi adaptor plugged in to a power source close to the router (there are alternative ways). Then I unplugged the adaptor and took it downstairs to the living room. It's best to have the adaptor a few feet above floor level. Since the 3-pin plug is built on the back of it, and all our sockets are floor level, I used a power extension cable to place it behind the TV, close to the box. The living room has one of BT's wifi extender disc units in it, since my router is upstairs; obviously, how well the adaptor will work for you will depend on the strength of the wifi signal you're getting in the room where your BT TV box (and adaptor) is placed. The two are wired together with a standard ethernet cable (a short one is supplied with the adaptor, which was fine for me). This wifi adaptor gets a recommendation from me.

Good product but packaging and documentation could be clearer
Bought this to connect my Philips Hue Bridge (which only has ethernet connection) to our Wifi. Does the job fine although has rather more functions than I expected or need! The packaging leads you to think it’s a WiFi Access Point/Extender (which I guess it is) then you see a little sticker that tells you about the Ethernet bit. The unit provides a 2.4 and 5Ghz extension WiFi signal which I have hidden so as not to confuse matters! Set up wasn’t too difficult although the documentation really only references the WiFi extension, not the Ethernet capability. Logging on to the admin page was not straightforward, I could only get the DHCP-derived URL name to work: I wasn’t about to turn off DHCP every time I want to access the unit. Having said that it’s now set up in our loft and I’m hoping I won’t ever have to touch it again!

Not suitable for ethernet connection to TV if you don't want to press WPS everytime TV turns off
Easy to install, but if you're TV doesn't have build in WIFi and you want to connect it to the Internet via the ethernet cable, it connects and works perfectly... but in my case every time my TV powered off, I had to go downstairs and press the WPS button and run back upstairs to press the button on the extender or reset it... I used it for a few days and got fed up with it!!! It's currently back in it's box, at back off the wardrobe where it will probably stay because amazon returns are not as straight forward as taking it to the post office .. so I wasted my money buying this as well as the ethernet cable I bought to go with it.I bought an amazon fire stick and it work's perfectly in my TV and connects to the WiFi, also got more apps on their to watch TV then my smart TV did... perfect upgrade for an older smart TV

Easy to set up. works perfectly.
Bought this as I was having ethernet problems and have a TV streaming device with no wifi. This does the job perfectly and provides a wifi booster as well.

Seems to work, but…
I bought this to plug my old YouView box into, as it doesn’t have wifi and the new router my provider sent me no longer had spare Ethernet ports. After plugging it in , the extender started flashing red for a bad connection and my YouView box wouldn’t connect to the internet - the router is on the other side of the room, so not exactly a long way away. Then I put my phone next to the extender and ran a speed test, connected fine and showed a speed of about 500mbps. Cue a load of faffing around with an extension cable, waving the connector around to see where it could get a good signal. Finally got it working, but far more trouble than I was expecting and we’ll see how good a long term solution it is…

Worth the purchase
Why did you choose this product over others?:Had a problem when I moved my Router into another room. Needed to connect a hardriver without the use of an Ethernet cable. This solved the problem. All now working perfectly.

Does the job perfectly
Gives my son internet for his gaming pc in his bedroom. Located the other side of the house to the internet box. Stong signal and fast internet. Alot cheaper than getting hard wire ethernet cable fitted.
