You can't throw blood stained things into the trash so you have to put them in one of these then turn them over to a place that can dispose of them, usually by burning. Needles and stuff can't penetrative so no risk of getting stuck

Works out good, like any sharp's container. Red containers are what they are. I don't need the needle removal assistant, but this guy still works great.
