Excellent Dash cam and incredible ADAS system!

I'll go over the good and then the things that could improve! Overall this is one of the coolest "techy" type items out there. I really don't know of a better product. I have had many dash cams and a few with ADAS features. Most of the time other dashcams are inconsistent and not very helpful. The pros:-Setup was very easy. Doesn't require any extra components.-The quality seems pretty solid. Seems well-built and doesn't rattle or shake.-The dash cam quality is actually very good. I was a little surprised by this due to the fact that this is geared more toward an ADAS driver system.-The ADAS system is actually incredibly good. I have blind spot monitoring and forward collision alert with adaptive cruise control in my car and this dash cam definitely works just as well minus the blind spot and the fact that it's a dash cam and cannot control the car (ie throttle and braking etc). The lane-keeping assist is by far the most accurate system I've ever used. Minus the ability to self-correct your steering, the screen is very accurate to road markings and alerts you as soon as you depart your lane. It's not slow to update or to show when you depart lanes. The FCW is spot on and actually helps out a lot when traffic is slow and you potentially look away out the window or take a sip of coffee! There's a myriad of other options in the app which I'll detail below.-The app itself is well laid out and has no clutter or slowness. Seems modern and up to modern UI standards. It is super easy to connect the camera to your phone. You can adjust the angle of the dash cam and line it up. You can change all of the ADAS systems and settings. Every setting has a low medium and high sensitivity setting at the minimum. Some have ultra-low or ultra-high. The ability to customize each and every one of these settings is something that sets this dash-cam apart from the others. Now for the things I feel could use improvement. Realistically there aren't many.-A rear dash cam addon would be huge. This is currently only a front-facing dashcam. I have another dashcam in the form of a mirror for my rear dashcam.-The ability to customize the screen to show different displays. I would say being able to just show lane guidelines or just show cars or pedestrians would be nice based on current driving situations. This isn't a complaint per-say just an idea.-Being able to adjust the noises that the ADAS system makes would be nice. Having a loud ding noise every time I get close to a car can get annoying over time, especially in traffic. Either being able to mute it or lower the volume would be nice! All in all, this is the BEST dash-cam I have ever used. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for quality features mixed with simple design and install. And pricing isn't bad at all either!

Works reasonably well given the price.

2-month (ish) UPDATE: my biggest complaint. the manual-specified app not working, has been updated and works fine now. The company contacted me after I posted the review below and apologized for the problems with the app. They offered what I thought was an overly-generous customer service gesture, and even though I declined they proceeded with said gesture anyway, easily some of the best customer service I've gotten in a while.Because the app works now, I bumped the review up to four stars. After using the system for a few months I'm pretty impressed. It doesn't catch everything but at this price point I think is a great supplement that reduces the chances of an accident, and possibly reduce the severity of accidents I might get into. Liked it enough I bought one for me teenage driver.Other thoughts: Had to download the English language pack through the app before it spoke to me. Device will never be better than the visibility. Bad weather, dirty windshield, snowy or wet roads reduce effectivemess. Just as they would for your eyes.Seems to work less effectively at night, but only slightly, and usually in situations where there are several cars to sort out. Even during the day, if a vehichle is close in color to the road or sky it can have problems detecting the car.Pedestrian detection is the weakest part of the software, but works often enough. Occasionally mistakes human-sized signs and posts for people... but since I shouldn't be running into those either, it's not a problem for me.I wouldn't rely on this to save my life, but as a supplement to an already attentive driver it has possibly already paid for itself in potential minor accident costs in my case. Helped me avoid one or two close calls. Understand it's limitations and never expect it to take the place of your eyes, ears, and brain, and I think many drivers would find this a useful safety tool to reduce the chances of an accident.Original review:It does seem to work fairly well for the price point, but I would NEVER trust to save my life or use it as a substitute for good attention and driving habits--just a supplemental system to improve the chances of avoiding an accident and/or limiting the severity of sam. It only has to work once to return my investment MANY times over.Unfortunately the documentation is a complete dumpster fire for the c2m model. It's so bad it directs you to the WRONG APP, and least on the android side. That app won't even work with the newer android release as of October 2023.The manual and the MANUFACTURER'S WEBSITE instruct you to download the "minieye international" app. Nooooooope. That did not work for the c2m model.Another reviewer said they discovered minieye "utour go" android app works instead. It did for me, (app icon pic included with the review) though I lost a few hours sideloading and fiddling with the other app since THAT'S THE ONE THE MANUAL SAYS. Ridiculous oversight, almost like no one updated the manual from previous versions. This seems to work best in stable, slowly-changing driving scenarios. It takes a second or two to process new data and pop it up on the screen, so fast-changing situations aren't always processed fast enough to be useful... which is kind of the point of an adas system. But respect the limits of a $200 system, and it'll serve you better than nothing.Pros:-It seems to work as advertised, and was surprisingly accurate for the price and the fact that it's just a camera, not a dedicated sensor suite. Didn't catch everything, but enough. 70%, maybe? At least in good light, clearly-marked roads, and clear weather.-Once I figured out which app to use, it worked fairly well.-Cell phone does NOT have to be constantly connected to the system to work. Only to access videos and make setting changes.-cable management was... fine... A real installer would probably have done better than I.Neutral:-anti-collision features did not work until I updated the firmware... which it won't allow you to do until you've connected the camera to your wifi, but then turn everything off, back out of the app, and open the app again.-Never used a manufacturer-installed adas system with multiple sensors, so I can't compare this product to the heavy-duty versions.-does not operate your car in any way. It's pretty clear it won't, but just in case someone might assume.Cons:-Not even close to 100% accurate. I plan on using this as a supplement to my driving to reduce the chance of an accident. I would NOT rely on this to save my life or someone else's, and would NOT use this as a substitute for my careful attention.-The alarms trigger later than I might like, even set to super-high sensitivity. It would be nice to have the software authority to set more specific alarm limits. There are some, but it's fairly limited.-False alarms sound from time to time. Oh well.-louder alarms would be nice (or the ability to connect it to a car stereo or bluetooth device), even the choice to use certain sounds for certain alarms would be nice. Many of the alarms are spoken, language-based warnings ("lane deviation warning!").In overall function I'd give four stars, a decent value for money factoring in the limits of the sensors involved. But the documentation is very sparse and contains maddening errors, so three it is.
