2 Pack Foot Pedal Switch Black 2 or 3 Core Round in-line Foot Press Switch for Standing and Floor Lamp Table Lights Line Switch

I bought this item to provide a retrofit solution for easy on/off switching of a gym style floor fan that sits next to our NordicTrack E12.0 elliptical.The switch is made of poor quality plastic, doesn't offer any earthing, and would scratch the floor when turned on/off. As such I don't have the confidence that this item is safe and have opted not to use it. I haven't bothered returning it, so unfortunately this has turned out to be a waste of time and money.

I used these as an extra control for two uplighters, each of which have a pair of rotary dimmers, but no separate on-off switch. It's much more convenient to leave the dimmers set and simply switch the whole lamp off in one go.Because I wanted to be able to use the foot switches separately if necessary, I wired them up with a 13-amp plug with a 3-amp fuse on one end and a trailing socket on the other and used three core mains flex for safety. If you do this you may need to enlarge to enlarge the cable entry channels on the top cover somewhat (quite easy with a small hacksaw and a round file).In order to wire them up you will need a single length of flex with a central region of the outer insulation stripped away, whose length should be just a bit less than the diameter of the switch, so that when you have routed the cores inside, the outer insulation is gripped by the channels of the assembled housing. There is a defined path on each side of the central push switch, for each of the neutral and earth conductors, and you only have to break the live conductor to connect to the switch. The only reason I have not given these five stars is that the assembly instructions are not very clear, and for UK use, it should also be made clear that a 3-amp fuse is needed.

Great simple to use. Used with under kitchen cupboard led lights. Mounted it upside-down on double sided tape, easy to find and switch.

Product interior and perhaps dangerous as no screw terminals for wires just push. Could eadoly come out and short causing fire. WILL NOT USE FOR THIS REASONDoes the Amazon recomended one have screw terminals althou only 1 unit for same price as sub standard 2 units product I have

Crap product. I wired it all up and the actual wore connection doesn't hold so the light flickers on and off. Absolute crap. Instructions were numbered 6-12 for a start.
