Solid travel buddy.
So far I have used this travel router both away from home for security and at home as a repeater to boost my network. The unit comes with a proper power supply with various adapters for international mains power, this is a rare thing these days as you are normally required to just run your device from any USB C power source. The device is easy to set up in its most basic form which is how I was using it, I am going to subscribe to a VPN service so that I can take full advantage of the security features. While away from home I was able to use three phones and two tablets simultaneously on hotel WiFi via the router with no problems buffering multimedia. Used at home it has removed a large dead area that I had where even a range extender kept falling over, very impressive. For such a small unit it packs a real punch and although it may seem expensive it really does the job. The other thing to mention is the build quality, most routers are as light as a feather with thin plastic panels, this feels absolutely solid and has mass for its size the antennae when folded cover the cooling vents and due to the clever design there is nothing to get snagged on anything.

Great bit of kit , really useful when travelling
I got this primarily for my travels in my motorhome and so far t seems ideal !Comes well packed in its box with a PSU that has loads of adaptors , but I have been using my power bank via the USB tp power it which is supper easy and makes it more portable.I really am not tech savvy with these things but I had it up and running pretty quick , although I can see that that t can do far more than what I have been using it for, so far , so some time in the future I might delve into the settings a bit deeper and really get techy !I have so far maned to use it as a relay station for a wifi signal from some of the campsites I have been on which is super handy as I can connect all my devices to this , I have also managed to setup a VPN which again has come in really handy when abroad .The whole unit and its fittings feel really god quality and the display on the front is very clear ,I would say this would suit a novice like me or someone who knows what they are doing as it really seems to be quite comprehensive.I really like it and well worth the price I think

powerful
Really handy gadget for travel. Used it on a recent trip and it worked really well overall. Setup was quick, and it handled hotel Wi-Fi without any major issues. Speeds were good for streaming and light work. The router is small enough to fit in a pocket or bag, which is super convenient. VPN setup was a bit of a learning curve but worth the effort for the added privacy.

Worked really well on my recent trip
£160 at time of reviewI’ve had this a couple of weeks now, I do quite a bit of travelling with work, and as a rule of thumb plug my MacBook Pro into the ethernet in the room rather than use the WiFi, not just for security as I’ve often found that the ethernet gives you full speed while the WiFi has often been limited to a 10th of the speed you’ll get via ethernet, plus they often use pretty lousy outdated security protocols, this has WPA3. I used to carry my own router / repeater, but that was getting a bit long in the tooth so I was looking to update it, so when I saw this I was keen to give it a go.I use my own VPN (Proton), plus I use Tailscale, which is built upon the WireGuard protocols to log into my NAS back home (if you’ve not heard of Tailscale I highly recommend it, for individuals and families etc it’s free, there’s an app for pretty much any device you can think of and it’s absolutely brilliant)The PSU that comes with this has adapters for pretty much every part of the world, and if you’re completely stuck it will run off a USB-C power bank! This can be simple plug and play if that’s what you want and need, but you can also dig under the hood and tweak a lot a of settings and open or block ports if you know what you’re doingIf you leave this at home and you’ve set it up correctly you can even use it to access your home network remotely (although as I mentioned above, you can use Tailscale to achieve that, but you might have to open some ports on your home router or network to achieve it)In my tests last week when abroad, this allowed me to create my own secure WiFi in my hotel that I could connect my two mobiles and iPad too, and my MacBook Pro when I wasn’t connected to the ethernet and it worked flawlesslyHope my review was helpful

Excellent router for secure brwosing when travelling and so flexibile.
If you travel and are forced to use public wifi then this GL.iNet GL-BE3600 Portable Travel Router is a brilliant bit of kit to secure your connection and give you that peice of mind that no one is snooping on your internet traffic.I though it was a little heavy, but saying that the router has a robustness which is reassuring. Out of the box you have a power supply for it with a range of adapters for different countries, but it can also run from a power bank which again is a great feature for those travelling and not having access to a plug socket.Out of the box it's pretty simple to use, but you need some knowledge of the technology to get the most out of the router. I work in IT so didn't find it much of an issue to setup OpenVPN server and secure the entire connection, but if this is new to you, then you might want to have a good read of the beginners guide before even looking to use the router.I really like the ability for the router to conenct to virtually any device, including tethered mobile phones or MIFI devices as well as WIFI networks and connections via ethernet.Overall, I really like it, and at around £144 at the time of review, it's a great tool to have available for when travelling. Happy to recommend.
