Looks factory, but fit is a pain to get right.
I need to play with it some more, but in short, my dash no longer fits. The upper right clips will not snap back in, because the stereo kit is in the way / not perfectly line up. Like some mentioned, the holes for these brackets are not lining up at all with my stereo. I guess I'll drill them out and add washers. If I line up the osest slots with the stereo holes for my screws, it sits in a way that prevents the dash from going back on correctly, so I've just been driving around without it clipped in. Looks terrible. Once I get it figured out, the color and everything makes it look like it was designed that way. Matches great. Just a pain to install. Instructions aren't good, and no good videos show you assembly of the dash kit.

Very flimsy construction, but looks factory once installed
I bought both the Metra 95-7870 and the Scosche Dash Kits for my 2012 Ridgeline RTS with graphite interior. I really didn't want to waste money, but I didn't know any way to compare unless I had both in front of me and could hold them up to the dash.My conclusion is that the best choice is Metra (this kit). But the Metra has issues as well.Metra 95-7870 Dash Kit:+ Color was dead on match with tray below it+ Texture was dead on match with tray below it- Plastic was flimsy, especially the connection between head unit and the trayI was definitely worried about the structural integrity of this Metra kit. The design of the attachment of the tray to the main bezel is so weak that it's ludicrous. I almost permanently glued the head unit dash adapter to the tray unit to improve the strength and prevent a gap line, but that would have made any future changes difficult. In the end it worked OK once in the dash. It looks great - hard to tell it isn't factory.Scosche Dash Kit:+ Plastic was thicker and stiffer than Metra- Color was too dark, almost black- Texture was wrong, too pebble-grained- The thin bezel around the opening was odd, hard to alignThe main head unit dash piece was definitely thicker and stronger than the Metra, but I didn't assemble the Scosche to the head unit so I don't know for sure that it would have been any stronger once assembled. But the color and texture were so off that I didn't go any further with the Scosche.

I don't understand the bad reviews
The ABS plastic is matched in color almost perfectly to the dash, the build quality is fine, and the strength of the plastic is on par with or better than any other dash kit I've used on any number of cars. The instructions are perfectly understandable, not vague or confusing. The parts included were the correct parts (the left and right brackets). Nothing was broken or damaged in any way. The product was shipped in a tough plastic bag, and wrapped in padding - I'm sure a box would be better, but not necessary.I have a gut feeling that most of the negative reviews are just the loud people, or people who haven't installed many aftermarket dash templates so they didn't know what to expect.About the fitment issue, this unit is designed to act as the bezel for the unit so it can be recessed into the dash. If you don't want the unit recessed, then you can trim it and make it a flush mount, but at least the option was there. The only reason that I'm writing this review is that I almost didn't buy this item because of the bad reviews - if I had followed the user reviews, i would be making a kit from scratch.Yes, you will break it if you bend it too far, don't bend it too far and you wont break it, its plastic after all. Yes you can scratch it if you dig your nail into it and drag... dont do that. Do you do that to your screen to test it? Just don't be stupid and you'll be fine.

Fits the truck well - but be cautious about the bezel
I purchased this unit to install a flip-down LCD head unit in my truck. The Metra item fits well, with the exception of needing to trim the top right tab a wee bit - but that was easy to do with a knife or side-cutters.The bigger issue is that the bezel/opening on this item is smaller than a standard double din opening - it's seemingly intended to act as the bezel for the head unit. In my case, the unit's screen opens to allow access to the DVD slot and GPS SD card behind, so I was forced to trim the plastic about 1/2" at the top of the opening to allow it to work. I did this with a razor blade and a small file - and it worked OK. I don't know if there is any solution from another vendor that would work out of the box in this case.I'd say this is a good item for the price - especially if you're willing to do a little surgery if needed. One small issue - the unit I received was the correct item, but the bag had a sticker on the outside that said "Nissan Armada". I therefor thought they had shipped the wrong item, but it turned out just to be a surplus bag, I guess...so check twice before complaining or returning the item.JIM in NH

At this price who can complain? My local shop wants 40 for a similar kit witch im sure has the same shortcomings as this kit.
Great... If your a modify everything kind of person with the tools and time to do it.Not so great if you just want the damn stereo in the dash and be done with it.07 Ridgeline RTL with grayish dash. Color and texture a pretty close match but look fine once installed. Take care not to scratch the bezel as this kit is painted and not colored plastic like most of your factory dash.1 Take the horrible plastic mounting brackets that hold the deck and throw them away. The Ridgeline has wonderful metal brackets that can easily be drilled/modified to hold any deck at almost any angle and setback. The Sony xav-701hd I installed has very tight tolerances when the face slides out and required just the right placement. Build and test this on the workbench before just throwing it back in the truck.2 Mount just the plastic bezel on top of the metal brackets and use a HEAT GUN to soften the standoffs and move the bezel back enough that the dash cover will snap fully into place. You may also need to trim the top right corner mounting tab since mine was hitting there too.In the picture with deck installed the dash wasn't quite fully snapped down on the right side, hence the small gap.

too plasticky, too loose
This fit, but not perfectly, and was essentially hanging loose until final installation. Final install ends up looking fine and is snug, but I feel like it's going to fall apart down the road. It felt very fragile during assembly. The bolt holes do not work well with chinese stereos (Eincar for example), though that's probably my stereo's fault. Build quality itself is ok, but It's entirely made of lightweight plastic which is disappointing. Nylon or something more solid would be better. I was hoping the brackets would be made of metal at least. Locking nuts provided did not attach well either (wrong size maybe?) and immediately stripped the threads of the screws, so I couldn't tighten the bracket fully. No permanent side to side adjustment is available either. Instructions need more info, specifically which way the nut goes and a better isometric view of plastic slide alignment would be helpful. On the plus side, the dark grey was an exact match for my dash.I would definitely look for something better before settling on this one in retrospect.

Good product!!!
Very well designed product, fitment was right on the money, the colour matches the rest of the dash well except for in certain lights it's a bit off. Overall very good.

Does not fit a double din stereo
Double din stereos are 7 inches wide. this dash mount kit is not 7 inches wide anywhere! I had to spend hours trimming the kit down, and drilling new holes for the screws to hang the deck, and now it looks like crap. not happy.
