It’s a surface-mounted design so mounting the switch is very easy to do. It has 2 trim pots which allow you to adjust the proximity trigger distance (up to 20cm), and the delay time (up to 20 seconds). Made from stainless steel, its build and construction are excellent, and will no doubt withstand frequent use. Operation is almost silent, with just a faint click heard from the switch when it’s activated. Lastly, a jumper pin will allow you to change the LED light from red to green or vice versa. This is a well-engineered product, that comes with everything you need… 3.5mm screws, a standard (flush-mounting) steel backbox, or if you want to surface mount, a brushed aluminium surround is also included. The plate is stainless steel and clearly marked.All that’s required, is a 12V power supply and wiring to connect to the door release mechanism. The changeover contacts on the built-in relay can switch 30V at 1A, but a secondary relay could also be used to switch mains, if required.The sensitivity and delay time can be adjusted using the small pots on the back of the sensor, and the red/green LED function can be swapped by moving the jumper. I tested it, using a lamp to simulate the door release mechanism (see video clip).Highly recommended.
