Good sound on the cheap
I wanted to try this product out and had a guitar that I could live with or without. $9 isn’t a great deal of money to take a chance on so I sent off for it.It came with no instructions so I referenced the videos on installing the K&K Pure Mini. My guitar is a Gold Tone Weissenborn copy with a small sound hole which proved to be a challenge. After overcoming all that and installing the pickups I was excited to fire it up.Running though a K&K preamp the pickups did what they are designed to do. Running into a Roland JC-120 solid state amp the pickup does a good job of capturing the sound. I did have to tweek up the bass and and go down significantly on the treble via the pre amp. Of note, I play slide on the instrument and the pickups enhanced to string sounds on the slide. It was bothersome at first but I was able to refine my technique to where it’s less noticeable. In all, this is a pretty good deal. I’ve got K&K Pure Mini’s on my other instruments and this isn’t that refined out of the gate, but with good equalization it’ll give you a great bang for your money.

Nice for the money-a little bright
Got what I needed to get the job donePlacement is specifically important inside the guitar body..Additional adhesive pads would be extremely helpful..

Adequate and inexpensive alternative to K&K Pure Mini Acoustic Guitar Pickup
I installed this on my Martin 00-15m the other night. The hole wasn't large enough for the pin so I had to drill a hole. I'm not great with these sort of things, so I thought I could whittle to make the whole larger, but I ended up drilling the hole. I started with a smaller drill bit and worked my way up each time to get it right. I finally got it right and I started to put the pin through the hole through the soundhole. This was difficult. The Martin is smaller than normal Dreadnought guitars, but I was finally able to get it in there. I had to then take it out because I realized I put the wrong washers on the inside.I would highly recommend this video of the installation of K&K Pure Mini Acoustic Guitar Pickup. It helped me out a lot.[...]The three pickups have sticky pads on the other ends, which I stuck into place using the video above. I'm sure hot glue would have worked better, but I suppose the stickiness should hold for a long time. The wires then can be clamped together using the zip tie and a plastic holder (with a sticky bottom) so you can hold the wires away from the soundhole. It's a little confusing to explain, but using the video and taking your time, you should have no problem installing this on your own. Once I plugged it in and heard the sound I was damn impressed. I may pick up a few more of these for my ukulele and other guitars. The only thing I had to do was turn down the bass on my amp and it sounded just as good as my Dean Markley soundhole pickup (which doesn't fit the 00-15 so well, that's why I installed this.).It takes a few weeks to ship from China, but for the price, you cannot go wrong.

Worse than worthless. No going back, even if it doesn't work.
I installed this product in my guitar with no instructions included, but followed video installation guides for K&K Mini pickups, which is a very similar product in design. The piezo pickups have double-sided tape installed already, which aids in installation. It's installed and everything, with the pickups directly below the saddle and the endpin jack installed. However, it doesn't work at all. My amp and computer both show no activity when I strum or pick a string. I guess it serves me right for trying to cheap out and getting a cheap pickup for my cheap guitar. I'd remove it, but it would be difficult to remove and I'd never be able to put my guitar back to the way it was because I had to enlarge the endpin hole. Besides that, it's more hassle than it's worth to return it even if I did decide to remove it because it was so cheap. My advice? Skip this product, try something else.

Excellent if you ditch the sticky tape
Excellent value. Good materials, design and soldered construction. Took off a star due to pre-attached foam sticky tape which kills piezo tone and must be removed to allow supergluing to underside of sound board. If you take off the foam tape, which is a bit of a hassle, being careful not to bend the fragile thin brass discs, you can clean off the residue (I used auto brake parts cleaner as a solvent) and experiment with placement on the outside top of the sound board, being careful to avoid the rib locations which would interfere when you move them below. A little painters masking tape to hold all 3 temporarily helps in finding the best placement for balanced tone. The installation requires some good tools and some level of skill and experience. I recommend a forstner style drill bit for the jack hole. Working through the sound hole, especially with unforgiving superglue, is not for the feint of heart. An active piezo JFET buffer between the pickup and the amp is highly recommended. I'm getting excellent tone using Scott Helmke's Mint Box Piezo Buffer circuit. It's easy to build with just a handful of inexpensive parts and seems to be a good compromise between more elaborate circuits and the quick and dirty design.
