Outdoor PIR Motion Sensor - 360° Degree Motion Detection Sensor - IP65 Dual Mount Wall or Ceiling Switch With Manual Override - Black

I have installed this PIR sensor a few weeks back, therefore it would be way too early to say something about its reliability and weatherproofing properties.The detection range and sensitivity are really good. I can imagine it might too good for some applications (falling leaves, etc..). For me, it's working flawlessly. I have installed it just under the gutter so I guess it will not get too much rain which hopefully will help it to be more reliable.I like that they provide shielding for the sensor which can be tailor-made to your needs. I think this is a very good idea.The installation of the sensor is relatively simple. If you are aware of the basic electrical installation methods then it will not cause you any trouble. There is quite a bit of space inside for the wires, so you do not have to cramp the wires into small space.The question remains how long it will last, but currently, I feel I made the right decision with this buy.I would definitely recommend this product, even if I could not install or see too many other PIR sensors, but for this price, I cannot imagine you could get much better solutions.

Wired this PIR in the interior of garage so that lights are activated as the garage door is opened.Instuctions were clear, product was well sealed against moisture, and clip connectors were reasonably effective and simple to use.I haven’t had cause to use the manual override yet, but the function, (enabled by rocking a switch providing the input), enables the light to be switched on for longer than the generous 30 minute sensor limit.All in all, a very good product!

Very useful in my garage rather than groping for the switch, or when driving in where there is no switch.

The 360 degree and 20 metre coverage are brilliant, all 3 entrances to my property are now covered.One unit has take the place of 2 units that only gave coverage of about 60 degrees and 6 metres each and only 2 entrances if conditions were right.I was going to mark it down to 4 stars because of the instructions, parts of them are incomprehensible. but that would be mean.Very easy to wire up, just remember to mark both ends of "Load" cable with tape so you don't get the "Feed" and "Load "cables mixed up.

We haven't had any heavy rain since I installed it, but so far the PIR has worked well. The waterproofing seals where the screws and wires enter the unit are secure, and so if you add a bit of CT1 sealant around the edge I'm sure it should be weatherproof. It was very easy to install, and as others have said, there is plenty of room for the wires and junction "box", so not fiddly as these tend to be. The only small negative is the range seems to be nearer 5-6 meters, not the 20 suggested. Probably nearer 20 feet, but to be fair that's all i need.

Excellent quality, easy to fit & use product of good appearance.Product is of great construction & has many technical adjustments available but it is recommended to be fitted by a fully qualified electrician.

Bought this for the garage lighting so that I can enter and magically, the light comes on.... and when I leave it.... it goes off! All without a phone, smart gadget. There are rear and side cable entry points. They are silicon membranes that you poke a hole in as opposed to proper cable glands. It is quite fiddly with twin and earth cable due to inflexibility but it is possible.My only criticism is that the instruction specifically state not to connect the earth (because it is double insulated). However, if you do not connect the earth's through, you leave potential for electric shock if there is a fault if you have metal light fittings. So yes, you don't connect the earth per say, but it should be connected 'through' and stated as such....which it doesn't.other than that, easy to adjust timer and dawn to dusk. 360 degree works great and activates anywhere in my garage.

Works in the day time if you want, but sometimes comes on for no reason
