MT3 New Improved Taper Turning Attachment with Revolving Live Center For Lathe Machine Metric

I bought this years ago thinking some day it might be useful.Well, broke it out and WOW, it's pretty dam good.No, it's not good enough to build items for the Space Shuttle but accurate to about 1 Deg.I made a few different punches from 2 Det-20 Deg in just two days, WHY, ya never know when you will need them.I heat treated a few, (Black ones) still have to do the rest.NOTE: getting it LEVEL, 0 Deg is SO IMPORTANT, as 0 Deg makes the cutting TIP a SIDE dead CENTER.Just as you adjust your cutting tool to 180 Deg on the side, you need to ZERO / LEVEL the adaptor.Once I calibtate my TAIL STOCK to ZERO with the Chuck, I don't want to shift the Tail Stock to do an ocassional taper cut. This tool does a great job and accurate enought for me.Vegas OBie

Mt3 taper does not fit the tail stock of my large. Taper is too long to seat. It should neck down to form a tang that will fit in slot at bottom of taper in head stock. This also allows the tool to be released from taper as you retract the headstock. The tool could be indexed with shim washers by the end user. Tool as received is unusable. If I can not get the arbor replaced with one with a tang on the end then I am going to return for a refund.After an exhaustive search, I found, or so I thought a mt3 arbor with a tang, with a soft end which I planned to turn down to 12mmx1.0.The taper showed up and it was the same as what I had, no tang. It’s going back for a refund.Back to square one. I chucked up the taper that came with the tool and cut 12mm off the taper end and drilled and tapped the end and put a stud in with locktite. It ejects now, but the tang would have indexed it properly. Sometimes you don’t get what you want, but you get what you need……….

Neat little offset tool. It is really good for tail stock to head stock tapers without having to lose your zero on your tailstock. The head is small it is easy to move.

Good item just they dont know diference be twin Mt 3 and Mt 1.. so they dispatch whatever no matter specs.. and charge to you the top's item
