You wouldn't think finding a FUquiING toaster would require such due diligence and research...after finding this toaster, I was thrilled to find it was the REAL DEAL!!The slot LENGTH is a generous 5 1/2"...ALL the other toasters I searched are 5 1/4" slot LENGTH...WIDTH was never an issue. NONE of my regular store-bought loaves (Orowheat, Roman Meal, Prairie Harvest, etc. Wouldn't fit in the 5 1/4" length slot)This one works like a dream! Great design (looks almost like my old Buick!), looks retro, simple operation and controls,...even toasting and heat distribution, BEST TOAST EVER!People that complain about this toaster (or any other appliance for that matter), appliances aren't made the way they used to be, and you need to have a little mechanical finesse and understanding of how things work.You'd think something as simple as a toaster would be straight forward...It isn't!So many toasters have been over-designed...too many settings, crappy mechanics and electrics...for the love of God, I just need toast!! The way bad reviews on THIS toaster seemed to be consistent with the same issues...not ejecting (popping up), not done enough, whatever...all seem (from what I've read) to be operator issues. I've had to "tweak" numerous new appliances to work correctly...a little bend on the sheet metal here or there, the catches/releases for switches, etc., but most folks wouldn't know to do these things. You SHOULD expect an appliance to work FLAWLESSLY, out of the box, for many years...those days are long gone my friends.Although, this may be an exception...Toasters by nature, are WAY cheap constructs for the single, sacred purpose of toasting bread slices evenly, on both sides, for your culinary pleasure...this ULTREAN toaster works PERFECTLY!It was a return (no instruction booklet, registration card, cord unraveled, damaged box, etc.,) but it looked GREAT, no damage, and toasted all my bread, muffins, and bagels to perfection! It's a great appliance for the single intent it was meant for... toasting bread!

Fast! Large Capacity! And it's pretty! Perfect for my en suite style bedroom kitchenette!

I like the looks of this toaster. It does toast evenly once dialed in to your perfect brown color. Pleased with it it so far.

I really wanted to love this toaster, especially because it looked really classy and clean. In the time that I have purchased it I’ve only used it a few times and have only ever used bread. The first time I used it it had this weird smell, and I thought it would just go away with use but in the few times that I continued to use it, it smelled burnt and the smell does not go away.UPDATE: the Ultrean support team reached out to me after my review and we’re kind enough to replace my old toaster. I’ve been using it for weeks and it works great! No burnt smell! Love it !

After two failed expensive toasters I decided to just buy a cheap one and see how it went. So far so good. Great toasting, looks cute
