Lifesaver doesn't even begin to describe this product.
When I first began purchasing equipment for my CCNA - CCIE home lab, I read that a USB - RS232 (aka DB9) adapter. I first went to my local Best Buy and bought one from Insignia. When I connected to my lab equipment, I saw nothing on screen - my SSH window showed an error no matter what reconfigurations I made. I was getting quite discouraged. I'd spent all this money on a home lab; assembled everything and wired all that was needed; only to be denied entry because I couldn't make a proper SSH connection.I then realized that it could very well be an issue of inferior manufacturer. I came to Amazon and found the TECHTOO model that I needed. It got here quickly, I followed the instructions. Then BANG, ZOOM - and everything opened up like clockwork. I was able to begin my studies on schedule and my lab is a wonderful apparatus; which also had to be sent back because of an inferior USB to RS232 adapter. Lesson learned - you can't go cheap on some things. If you do, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!

Appears to be genuine FTDI chip
Unlike some adapters, this one was detected by Windows 10 as having a genuine FTDI chip and not one of the unreliable chips that don't work well or has no recent Windows drivers. So far it is performing as my other adapters are that have FTDI chips and apps that complain about clone devices/poor performance have not complained at all. The biggest problem is it took about six weeks to arrive from time of order so this is not one you want to order if you need it quickly.

Works well out of the box
This serial cable does exactly what it is supposed to. You connect the USB port to a PC and the RS232 connecter to a serial port. A driver cd was included as well as a link to download the divers, but the cable worked out of the box on both a Windows 10 PC and a Raspberry Pi (running Raspbian).

Easy way to create a COM port
I ordered the Techtoo USB to COM interface to connect a legacy LED display sign to a computer that did not have a COM port connection. Easiest install ever, just plug it in and a compatible driver installs. After setting the correct COM port number, no problem connecting to the sign.

Works in Windows 10
Quality is good. Uses a chipset that is supported in latest Win10 update. All of our older usb to serial converters were suddenly unusable under Win10. Some sort of patent infringement skullduggery is their excuse.

Good quality RS-232 USB adapter
I had the FTDI drivers already installed on my Windows PC andit worked immediately upon being plugged it.Later I used it on a Raspberry Pi 3 and it worked finethere also.

Don't by this product. Worked for about a month and then the connector started separating from the hood. Now the cable cannot be detected by a computer.

Worth it!
I have to go out and configure devices in the field from time to time. This made it so much easier! I was using the standard console cable with adapters and it was a pain! This is also much longer!
