This is a great book for anyone that needs to take the Praxis 5205 Reading test. It gives a lot of useful information for the test. There are also many practice tests within the book. Each section has its own test so you can see where you are deficient at. This book will help you pass the test. The money is worth it.

The information in this book is good.

The contents of the study guide were very helpful, but I am giving this purchase 4 stars because the book arrived damaged. The back cover along with several of the inner pages have what appears to be 1 to 2 inches of water damage and each of the pages are curling at the top left corner.

I have never written a review for anything before, but I felt like this one was both appropriate and necessary. I told my friends that I would only write a review if this book drastically changed my test results, so here it is!!I took many of my education classes regarding topics about the teaching of reading online, so I felt that the depth of my learning was quite shallow. The teaching of reading study guide could not have proved that feeling to be more right. I had no idea what half of the topics in this book were, so needless to say I thought that I would certainly fail the first time. I started studying this book for multiple hours a day for the two weeks leading up to the test (I wouldn’t recommend doing this). I thought I would fail the test, considering how minimal my prior knowledge on this subject was, but I passed!! Albeit with the absolute, bare minimum, passing score! I exclusively studied this book and didn’t even use the practice tests provided on the site. I’m so grateful for this test book!!

I passed my test! I bought this and started studying everyday until my test, about 20mins a day. I read every page and took the practice tests and the test at the end of each section multiple times. I also watched her seminar where she discussed test strategies and how to answer the written part. I really could not recommend this book enough!

If you’re taking Teaching Reading 5205 soon… you need this study book. With the help of this book / the audio course on the KJ website, I was able to pass on my first try and am now one step closer to becoming a teacher! I studied for about 2 months. 10/10 recommend!!
