Fun solution to an irritating problem!
The previous owner of my house improperly installed a brick patio, and weeds grow like crazy through the cracks. I used a pressure washer, but that was messy, and using a weed wacker takes too much time. On top of that, the weeds just grow right back in a week or so, depending on rainfall. When I saw this torch, I did some research, and found out that weeds don’t grow back as quick when burned (it does something to the cellular structure). Why not, right? Attaching the hose to the propane tank was straightforward, once I figured that it was reversed threading. Then you just open the valve on the tank, open the valve on the torch a bit, light it, and WHOOSH! After you adjust the flame, you’re good to go. It’s not only fun, it’s loud when you squeeze the trigger to really give to those stubborn weeds. You won’t be able to have a normal volume conversation when you use this while squeezing the trigger, but not hearing protection type of loud. The only thing I have an issue with is the length of the wand. I’m 6’ tall, and have to bend over just slightly to get close to the weeds. The length of the hose is just enough to be away from the propane tank, but not so long that it’s cumbersome. I would suggest getting something to be able to transport the propane tank on, if you have a large property. However, if your property isn’t very large, picking up the tank to move it around isn’t too bad. Just be careful that there isn’t a lot of dry debris around, and definitely stay a good amount of space from your house or storage unit when using this. I used it a couple of weeks ago, and very few weeds have spouted back up. I would definitely recommend this torch!

Effective and FUN
It would definitely be worth it to get the model with an ignitor built in... but super easy to use still while manually lighting. I had dead grass all throughout the giant pit of rocks that is my front yard. I had already spent many hours pulling it out by hand, but it only took me about 2 and a half hours total to burn it all out with this attachment. It screws in to the inside threads on a standard propane bottle and a wrench is included. These threads are reversed, so you turn counter-clockwise to tighten! I will be using it again today to burn out my disgrace of a back lawn to reseed with grass/clover.

Sear steaks with propane torch
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this torch to sear steaks (inspired by Guga Foods, Sous Vide Everything). The torch produced a great crust on the steaks in under 20 seconds with no propane taste. The pressure control knob did not work well. I could not reliably control the output using it so I had to use the knob on the propane tank to control output.

Kills weeds very well!! Don't open your tank valve all the way and it won't blow itself out
Users are complaining that this will blow itself out when the trigger is pulled all the way. While this is true, the simple solution is not to open your tank valve all the way. A very simple solution for a minor problem. Aside from that, this thing works great!! Sounds like a jet engine when you use it so it might turn heads if you live in the burbs like me. I certainly don't recommend building a backpack for your tank. That might turn heads of the police. This is now my only weed killing tool for the driveway. You don't need to sit there and burn the weeds out, you just need to kiss them with the fire. They will die in two days.

Too Short
Torch works well. However, the length of the handle section is too short. You have to bend over to torch weeds. Very tiring. Distance from handle to torch needs to be longer.

Burns the weeds away
So much better than pulling out weeds by hand!

Keeps blowing itself out.
This thing has no regulator, it delivers full tank pressure to the flame when the trigger is depressed. It shoots out a HUGE flame that immediately incinerates the edges of the plant in question. After a couple of shots, it blows itself out. It's also loud, and between the blast and the fire I fear it would draw a lot of negative attention, even if it stayed lit. One star. I am returning it.
