Zhiyun Universal Quick Release Plate for Crane M3,Crane M2S

The media could not be loaded. I bought a Crane M3 for really cheap but the original mounting plate was broken. I couldn't find that exact one. Maybe Zhiyun doesn't sell the original so you'd buy this expensive one!It is well built and specifically made for my gimbal. Good thing about it is the quick release. You can deal batteries or SD cards or simply hand held your camera them snap it back on the gimbal without having to rebalance it again! Bad part is the price! For a small piece of metal and plastic, it's too expensive. I didn't have a choice since my original plate is broken. Otherwise, it's a lot to pay for a small convenience if the quick release. I guess it depends on who you ask. Some will definitely say the no rebalance part is worth it if you're in a hurry or if you're a pro. If this was $30-$40, it's definitely worth it even for beginners like me.

Everything about this plate is great, but the adapter that attaches to the camera is a bit fiddly. The small screw requires a flathead screwdriver to attach to the camera. It moves freely and can be difficult to align to the hole in the camera while tightening. The front of the adapter is raised and can get in the way when attaching the camera, depending on the camera's design.

I use this with my Crane M2S and my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (OG). The batteries for the original Pocket are notorious for short run-times so this enables me to quickly release the camera from the M2S, install a new battery and replace the camera without spending the time to re-balance the M2S. This is a great way to save time by not rebalancing. Another alternative to purchasing this release plate is to charge the battery in the camera whenever you have time between shots. I use this method sometimes even with this release plate system installed but it's a great luxury to have this upgrade for the M2S.

If you own the Crane M3 you need this. It really should have come with the unit, and is twice as expensive as it should be (-1 star for that). It’s also not compatible with a standard QR mount (-1 star there also). But if you want access to your battery compartment this is your only option.

A must-have adapter for anyone using this gimbal with smaller cameras or phones.

This very expensive, and so called "universal" Quick Release Plate is NOT universal and is NOT compatible with Sony ZV-1! The seller should mention compatible cameras instead of just calling it "universal" which mislead into thinking that it will work with any camera and that is not the case!I purchased 2 of them, one is working with My Sony A7 M4 and will keep it however I will return the one that is not compatible with Sony ZV-1

This was perfect for removing sony rx100 vii on and off without having to re-balance BUT i still have to remove the plate from the camera because its not a universal fitting plate like arca swiss shaped. its V shaped which cannot cross fit to other bases like tripod base heads or monopod bases etc. so i need to remove the plate anyway. also, when camera is not on gimbal i need to unscrew plate so i can screw in sony remote (GP-VPT2BT) at bottom of camera. so this plate style is not versatile. would love something like a PGYTECH SnapLock Plate +Adapter w/Arca-SwissInterface
