This is definitely going to be one of those "personal opinion" kind of items, I'm sure, but this is probably the most comfortable pillow I've ever owned.When I first opened it, it seemed pretty soft (squishy) to the touch, but when I actually slept on it, I decided it was perfect.I've had this pillow (and been sleeping with it almost exclusively) for about two months, and it's been great. For me, there was really no "adjusting" period - it helped me pretty much right from the start.I have loose joints (plus wide hips and narrow torso) and had been waking up almost every morning in pain. Since I've had this pillow, that has almost never been the case. I sleep in "all" positions - back, left side, right side, tummy - and this pillow is awesome for every option, as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes I use a knee pillow under one leg for side sleeping, but not always.I love that you can flip the pillow depending just how thick you want your neck support. It makes it that much more customizable. If I'm lying in bed on my side reading or something, I stick one of my regular bed pillows under this one for a little extra height. Sleeping, I definitely don't need the extra.Also, however I lay my head (and my arm), there is easily a place where I'm not going to feel suffocated by the structure of the pillow. Somebody really thought this design out.The cover is nice and silky on top. The bottom is harder to explain: maybe kind of like a slightly soft, slightly scratchy mattress pad? I have sensory issues and do not find it unpleasant, but I added another pillow case (just because, I guess) anyway.I let the pillow air out several hours before use and did not have issues with any overpowering smell or anything like some foam products seem to have.I'm hoping this product sticks around because I expect to be purchasing again when this one gets tired.

My husband and I really like these pillows. I ordered one since I was having trouble with neck and shoulder pain. I was skeptical when I ordered because neither of us has ever lasted long on any memory foam pillows we have tried in past years. Aside from being uncomfortable, hot, and smelly our previous experience made me think this would be another disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised how soundly I slept the first night I used it. I suggested my husband try it since he has neck and back issues. I didn't get my pillow back and had to order another for myself! I have now ordered a third one to have as a backup. The pillows shaped up within a few hours and had only a very slight odor at first that wasn't bad at all. I let it air indoors for a couple days and then it was good to go. I hope it works for you. We are delighted with this purchase, and the company was prompt in shipping.Update: We use a regular/queen size pillow protecter and pillowcase on this pillow. That works fine so we have not found the need for a special pillowcase.

The amount of excitement and anticipation I had around waiting for this pillow to arrive was unreal. When it finally arrived and I was able to use it that excitement switched to bliss.Background—I have chronic neck, shoulders, and lower back pain. The neck and shoulder has been recurrent or reinjured multiple times since I first injured it at 11 years old (30 years).I am only 2 nights in with this pillow and I have had the best sleep in a long over those 2 nights.I usually toss and turn all night, or it takes a long time to get comfortable and get the pillows right—within 5 minutes of my head hitting this pillow I am out. I spent all day the first day in the car and had a stiff neck and shoulders when I got home. I anticipated waking the next day sore or needing pain relievers—I did not need anything as everything that was out of alignment was able to get the correct support over night.I have told all of my family about this pillow, and the fact that I am so excited over a pillow instead of something fun makes me feel really old.

I found this Queen size pillow to be an improvement, for me, from the conventional pillow. So, I purchased an additional pillow case in queen size. I removed the cervical pillow case from the Donama Contour Memory Foam Pillow following the directions in the user manual. No instructions are provided for replacing the pillow case. No marking for front or back are on the pillow or pillow case and because of its unusual shape, after removing the pillow case to wash it, and not paying attention and its unusual shape, I couldn't figure which side of the pillow case was front or back. Furthermore, I tried both sides and spent a considerable amount of time trying to return the pillow to its original shape. It was and is impossible for me to cover the Contour Memory Foam, and have it retain the original shape it was in when it arrived.

I can't say enough good things about this pillow. My neck has been in pain for the last year. I've tried stretching it and getting massages to alleviate the pain. A few weeks ago, my massage therapist suggested I try using a neck pillow because she was not able to help with my neck issues. I am a side sleeper and spent time searching Amazon for a pillow that would work for me. A friend (who had also been having neck pain) recommended this one. I did not buy it at first because the design looked strange and it was pricier than other pillows - but I was desperate so I finally purchased it. It is memory foam and it smelled awful when I unpackaged it. It needed time to "offset gas" so I put it in my closet for a few days before using it. Then, I tried it out. It is a firm pillow with a fairly heavy weight. Its odd shape is actually awesome because it's designed to function best for back and/or side sleepers. After sleeping on this pillow for two weeks, my neck pain has lessened about 80% overall. I'm actually able to turn my head side to side without pain. I highly recommend this pillow if you have neck pain. I use a standard pillow case over the pillow for easy cleaning.
