Q: will be able to help my cat not gain weight?

My Vet’s recommendation (09.21.20) was to feed my overweight 3 yr old boy of 14.5 lbs; 1/4 c. hard food (Purina Proplan Weight Management or Hill’s Science Diet Perfect Weight) in the morning & a weight management wet can in the evening to get his weight down to 11-11.5. Boys need wet food to help them with their digestive system.

In case anyone more recent comes to see answers, my cat is and he has no medical issues other than asthma and didn’t drink so much water until this food. Think we’re going back to Nutro.
