Finally got to use this to hardwire my dashcam. It works as it should.

Great bit of kit made the job so simple.

Plenty of cable for the majority of cars, excellent choice of fuse taps supplied to suit any application. Instructions could be better but probably shouldn’t be attempting to fit this if you don’t already have a fairly good idea of what you are doing.I did have an issue during installation but turned out to be a bad earth, good enough for my meter to read but not good enough to power the kit, swapped earth position and all good.My only criticism of this kit is that it comes with a straight USB C plug, the dash cam it is designed for, and probably most dash cams, use a 90 degree right angle connector, not a deal breaker but it does make for a tidier installation. I just added a short extension cable which solved the problem.

I used the fuse tap to connect it to an ignition-switched circuit, so the camera turns on and off automatically with the car — no more forgetting to plug it in or worrying about battery drain. Good quality, hardwire kit.Has all known fuse types with it to fit into your fuse board.My fuse boards are located in the boot and the bonnet, I had to wire into the back of the radio and fan controller main feed as it was the only option for my car but it works great.
