Opening the Sonos app wakes up the speaker. After a timeout (I think this is around 30 minutes of inactivity) you press a button on the back of the speaker to wake it up.Really great to take this outside and either play music from a cell phone or Wifi.The Sonos app is slowly recovering from the awful software release last year. Most of the functions have been restored. It is not perfect, but very much improved. There are numerous music/podcast services available in the Sonos app. You can of course link your personal accounts (Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, etc.) and access your favorites if you want. You can add any of your provider channels you like to a personal Sonos favorites list.It is worth the money.

I love this speaker! it has deep base and gets suprisingly loud. it can connect via wifi, bluetooth, and can play from many of the music platforms. You can also link them together to produce stereo. MIne did not come with anything but the charger base. The adapter to plug it directly into a preamp or other sound devices has to be ordered separately. Yes, it's pricey too. What I don't like is the base/charger. It's proprietary and like the speaker, they are on the pricey side if you break it.

I'm running about 10 speakers using AirPlay2 with iTunes on a Windows 10 computer and have been for many years. I wanted to add one more speaker that was portable and settled on the Sonos Move 2. After my own troubleshooting and spending over an hour with Sonos support I was finally informed that it is a "known issue" that the Sonos Move 2 cannot be used simultaneously with Sonos One speakers with AirPlay2 on a Windows computer. Sonos support tried to argue with me about my setup, claiming that there is no such thing as AirPlay with a Windows computer and suggested that I get a Mac. Among the other ludicrous suggestions from Sonos support was that I shouldn't try to use the Move 2 at the same time as my other Sonos speakers which kind of defeats the purpose of "whole home audio" as advertised.The Move 2 speaker worked fine with bluetooth and the Sonos App but I never intended to use it in that way.

As a portable speaker, this thing is awesome. Great sound, good Bluetooth connection, and nice form factor. This isn’t a rugged portable speaker you take to the pool, but it fits in next to a pool, but also doesn’t look bad at an outside dinner party. Expensive, but the sound is so good and it just works.

Wonderful speaker - incredible sound and ties in well with the Sonos ecosystem. I plan to buy another!

The Sonus move speakers have great sound with nice bass. They can work off wifi or bluetooth. I have had trouble getting the set up and moving between BT and the network. Sonus support is pretty responsive but something like this should work out of the box. Overall, the sound quality is worth a little extra hassle (and money)
