Tricky to set up
Moved into a new house that already had a Hive thermostat, decided to try and use the app, but needed one of these apparentlyThey said it was a doddle to set up, but it’s far from it tbh, massively frustrating, no instructions (even the official guide doesn’t tell you what the light and buttons do or mean)After a few days and many YouTube videos we for thereIt works a treat now, but was oh soooooo painful to setup

It works very well so far

Does most jobs well, except one (at the moment)
EDIT: Reduced to ONE STAR until Hive fix the HomeKit integration issue. Amazon should also remove the mention of HomeKit integration.Hive state a fix was on the way, now there is no fix timescale. At the moment the Hub is being MIS-SOLD as HomeKit compatible. This Hive Hub does pretty much what you need it to do, with one small exception. If you use HomeKit on Apple, the Hub has a problem with setup. Basically it fails, constantly. Hive knows about it and is apparently working on a fix, but you will have to wait as they're not there yet.I have this issue, but I don't rely on HomeKit. The Hive App is perfectly acceptable with the addition you can control Hot Water from the Hive App, whereas you cannot from HomeKit. This is the same for all Hive Hubs, not just this one. It's a small unit and comes with the power supply you need. It also comes with a decent length Ethernet Cable. You do need to plug it in to your Router. They recommend plugging it in to the Main Unit of a Mesh system, but I have mine connected to a node and it seems to be fine (Deco X-series).As the cheapest Hive Hub, it's perfectly fine. All my Thermostats and Receivers show maximum signal from a central location so reach seems to be good, but of course there's always the Hive Smart Plug that acts as an extender should you need it.

Happy
Happy with my hub but the hive app just isn’t pairing with my heating. Must be doing something wrong but not willing to ‘fiddle’ with the heating myself.

No real instructions, fiddly but ok
So to add: turn on, it’ll flash while updating so you’ll have a waitInstall the app, add the hub using the number on the back. If that doesn’t work tap the little button. To add the thermostat and controller on the boiler long press the button on the boiler. When it flashes stop and then long press again until you get two yellow flashes. In the app start the add thermostat / add heating area.On the thermostat control, remove and reinstall the batteries, hold down the menu and back button. It’ll do a 10 second countdown and then it’ll start searching. All the parts should find each other. If the app part doesn’t finish but everything else has solid lights press the back button on the app - it’s probably already synced. If all else fails, YouTube has you covered. The instructions from Hive… do not.
