I have a high security steel cycle shed that I use to store my power tools in. In itself it is a fantastic piece of kit and would pose a hard target for most burglars. However having been burgled before I realise that I am a target for thieves to come back as they will know that I have have replaced the tools they stole with new ones.Though I am fairly diligent, we can always make mistakes and I have been known occasionally to forget to lock my secure tool shed.This 'SecureMyDoor IP67 Weather Resistant External Magnetic Lock | Fail Safe Access Control' now allows me to to close the door and it auto locks.I powered mine with a spare 12v car/van battery and a trickle charger. The green lead looks a little light blue/turquoisy to my eyes so if anyone else is confused then that is the green wire.To activate the lock and for a 12v power source you just need to follow the instructions and join the red/green wires for + and blue and black for -I will take a video of my setup when it is tidier, however at the moment it looks really scruffy. I still have to install an official exit button which I do have from inside (though you could just rip the wires out) and at the moment I am controlling the entrance with a discreet 12 accessory switch on the side of the shed.The power of the lock is pretty impressive and either on its own of in conjunction with the rest of the locks it is a fantastic tool to strop burglars. Obviously this is not the intended use for this item, however for me it has been a fantastic use. I am considering getting another one to place on my steel entrance door to the garage.At £59.97 it is not cheap however my last claim for burglary came in at over £5000 and included a load of hassle.

This is a really heavy mag lock system, ideal for home or commerical doors that are metal non-hollow core.The only downside is this is not a inverted type as in locked without power so this must be supplyed with a genarator or battery backup with some substatinal duration to protect from someone just knocking the power out.As it takes standard 12v this is easy to rig up with a solar charge controller system with days of power from a standard 100-300AH battery.

A heavy very nicely made huge chunk of solid metal that is going to make it a lot harder to gain access to my Spanish garage .I have this unit along with the door release unit & the failsafe.Due to not being at my home 24/7 & it being on a main street people can see what is in my garage & I don't particularly want to lose it all so this does give me piece of mind that no-one is going to get my cars or bikes or Makita tools out.There is a huge amount of magnetic force applied when the lock is powered ... I cannot budge it so am happy that no-one else will either !!!I had an electrician friend wire it up for me and I couldn't be happier .Hope this helps ....
