If you know what you are doing, this is great, I'm buying more
Overall I'm glad I chose this. Goes on discount to about 135. Setup had minor hiccups, but just had to try the step again to get it to connect right. I saw a review about it's impossible to setup because you can't plug it into ac and router at the same time. Do not listen to them as they are completely and utterly wrong. They over complicate the entire process when all you have to do is listen to the instructions and do what it says. Plug into dc, then router and follow steps. You do not need ac power until the very end when you install into fixture or wall.Setup was fine and the app is pretty nice. The user interface needs a little work, but it has good functionality. Some complained about false positives and too many notifications. They have options in the settings to adjust the sensitivity and delay of notifications, among many other settings. You can turn it up or down. It's not a big issue for me.I am very satisfied with this cameras performance and clarity. The floodlight can be turned up very bright, the speaker can be clearly heard and the view angle is amazing. I can see the whole neighborhood with one camera as long as no huge vehicles are in the way. It screws into the junction box where the porch light is very easily. It comes with wire nuts, but do yourself a favor and buy some wago connectors to make your life easier.Notification speed is great and opening the app to view the camera is much faster than say the nest app or google home app I use for my other cameras. This was exactly the product I was looking for and it's recommended over motion tracking cameras as well. There into much to complain about that's worth mentioning other than minor hiccups in the setup phase. Just try it again and it will worm, listen to the instructions clearly, step by step one at a time slowly.I'm planning on buying two or three more of these to surround the house for full coverage. Professional reviews rate this camera system highly and so do I. Make sure your router has a strong signal, isn't congested and operating smoothly.Highly recommended camera as long as you can figure out what you are doing. Look at the directions slowly, check out all the options in the app and do your due diligence. This is not a set it and forget it camera, you will need to do some management and adjust as needed, but then after that you are going to be set and done. You're not going to get much better unless you enjoy paying multiple times more and even over 1000.

No Ethernet needed.
You donât need ethernet to connect this, all you need is reolink home hub.1. Initial set up is the key, before the installation, connect the camera to the power, connect with ethernet, link the camera to reolink home hub, format the micro sd card. After the camera is linked with home hub, disconnect the ethernet and test if it can stream.2. No ethernet is need after the initial set up, no connect break up issue so far.3. Built quality is solid, 4k recording.4. Budget friendly.5. Simple set up and installation.Cons: night vision is not as good as I expected, maybe I have objects too close to the camera.

A Good Idea Executed Horribly
The hardwired AC version of this camera will not initialize with DC power as youâre directed to in the instructions. According to some googling, it will only initialize while hooked up to AC power. One problem: it also needs to be connected to a router using an Ethernet cable at the same time. This makes it basically impossible to set up the camera safely unless you feel comfortable manually wiring it to a power plug and plugging it into the wall with everything just hanging out there and not enclosed. Not safe at all. Also, the AC version of the camera appears to not actually receive active support from Reolink. When I ran into this issue, I discovered itâs not listed for sale on their websiteâand while you can find install instructions for it in their support section, the instructions incorrectly tell you to use DC power to initialize it.Also, while I didnât get this far due to the initialization issue, my research also turned up that despite the fact that this camera is technically two cameras in one, it only has two âjoinedâ feedsâa super wide and high-quality one that doesnât work with HomeKit through Scrypted, and a super wide and *low* quality one that does (effectively 720p). Iâm almost glad I didnât get far enough to encounter that.
